I agree. Let Trequan walk. Starting WR could be MT, Callaway, and Harris. And they do need better TE's if Trautmen inst going to make a leap forward.

its either where they were drafted or it is the offer they were tendered, you cant have it one way for one but opposite for the other
so what decides? spot they were drafted, or the tendered offer

Let Trequan walk, but do not go into the year banking on MT to bounce back to his normal self before seeing it, and expecting Callaway and Harris/Harty to step up much more than what they were last year. You have to get either a vet FA or higher end draft pick to contend for the WR2 spot. I wish Lil'Jordan had a little more speed because he seems to have decent hands when he gets a pass thrown his way.
Same thing for TEs. I'm hoping Trautman takes a big leap the same as I'm hoping for Callaway & Harty, but I have not seen enough from him to bank on him either. We already have Johnson re-signed, I think he needs to see the field more, but I would also add another vet TE that can be a good mix of blocking and catching, similar to what we thought we were getting with Vannett

1st round tender to anyone drafted in first round = first round pick
1st round tender to anyone drafted in any other round or undrafted = 2nd round pick
2nd round tender for anyone drafted in first or second round = 2nd round pick
2nd round tender for anyone drafted in any other round or undrafted = 3rd round pick
I believe this only applies to upgraded tenders (if they were to offer more than one 1st or 2nd round tenders).

No Callaway or Harris got to go… we hope this every offseason… only to have a MT, AK, and Taysom (sometime) making all the catches… SP gone 1st round pick should be a WR… SP two best receivers during his tenure came out the 7th round, 2nd round and wherever Lance Moore came from… so you could understand his hesitancy to draft one in first round especially considering how Cooks turned out although Meachom was alright

If he had been drafted in the 2nd round and we put a 2nd round tender, we get a 2nd round pick.
Any pick lower or undrafted, and we get a 3rd.
If we had put a 1st round tender and he was drafted in the 1st, we would get that pick. 2nd or lower...2nd round pick.
1) 1st Round Tender - 1st round pick if picked in 1st, otherwise 2nd
2) 2nd Round Tender - 2nd round pick if picked in 2nd, otherwise 3rd
3) Regular tender - determined by draft status, 3-7
However there is a third tender, and that corresponds with exact round drafted 3-7...or no pick if a UDFA.

Front load it. I certainly hope this doesn’t happen, but if I’m another team, it’s what I would do.
NFL contracts are tricky, but you can “poison pill”’a deal and find yourself with a hell of a contributor for a 3rd.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I'm a fan of Harris/Harty, but I'd have a hard time justifying paying him that much ($4M) and passing up a 3rd pick for him. He did step up decently receiving (36rec/570yrd/3TD) but his return game was down last year, and I believe it was Easop Winston if I remember correctly and actually out performed Harris/Harty in the return game.

That doesn’t make since because there is no rfa for first round picks. You get the 5th year option picked up or you become a ufa. Seems like if u put a 2nd round tender, you should get a 2nd if he signs elsewhere.
There’s an original round tender for where he was drafted. Think the person quoting this fact is wrong.

Pretty sure all of this is wrong.
There are no first round restricted free agents. Pretty sure there are also no second round restricted free agents because they get 4 year deals and after 4 years they become unrestricted free agents.
So what you are saying doesn’t make sense.

No one is going to give up a pick for harty. That's why they did it. They want to keep him. He is a much better player than winston.
