Total waste of burning a top 40 pick if it happens.

Think it’s more likely we wait till 2027 for manning. Gonna be hard to pass on yiur son if he’s on the board though.

What did last year’s firs mock immediately after the draft assign to us? I sure hope it was someone good! These mocks are super accurate, important and needed!

Is it?

If Shuck works out AND we draft Arch we’ll be set AND deep at the QB position for a decade

If we somehow get a franchise qb in the next year or so wasting a pick or two doesn’t really matter THAT much.

How many pre draft mocks had them going OT this year?

Look at all the mocks right after the draft last year and see how accurate they were … not very accurate on anything … not accurate on the predictions of where nfl teams would be drafting or the players being drafted …. And a future mock like that would be lucky to have one team to player right … the only thing those mocks are good for is to get an idea as of general player pool as of right now of who may be high on the board .. but with another college season to go that doesn’t mean all that much

fwiw, IMO it's impossible for both of these things to happen.

Yes, overreacting to a 2026 mock a week after the 2025 draft is certainly a choice

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit I see. If, if we draft a qb in the first round next year, then yes burning a top 40 pick on Shough was a total waste. Some really good players were picked after us at 40.

Wasting high draft picks on quarterbacks back to back years wouldn’t be dumb at all. Especially when you have a bottom 3 roster.

We have no idea what we have in Shough right now.
This is purely hypothesizing.
If in this event we do draft a top qb in the draft, the guy would be special and then we would have a qb room with all rookie contract qb's, which would greatly accelerate our ability to put our cap past in the past and eat carr's contract quicker meanwhile elevating the most important positional room in football. There's teams paying 10 plus million for a backup qb, if that ends up being shough's role in year 2 or 3 then so be it.
All in all, its still you wanting to be drama for little reason.

Why do these people do a mock draft a year in advance? They can't even remotely predict it a day out much less a year out. These things are such a waste of time. Have they ever been productively accurate at all?

Nope. Won’t happen. Not in the 1st rd anyway.

As long as Loomis is GM you can just about bet the house that the Saints will pick an OL in the 1st rd.
