Cooks set to have cap figure of 8.5 mill next yr.

Ryan Ramczyk set to have cap figure of about 2 mill next yr.

Combination of Ginn Jr and Ramczyk still puts us at 6.5 mill roughly.

Cooks is a hell of a talent but this move is ending up very solid on both ends.

This is also not including 2019, Ginn Jr and Ramczyk is still locked up for a combined 5.9 million while Cooks will be looking for a top 10ish WR contract deal.

That trade saved the season. With all the injuries on the o-line, without Ram Drew may have been sacked 40+ times.

Plus we picked up a 3rd, which we used to draft DE Trey Hendrickson. We gave up a 4th, which I believe New England traded to Detroit, who used it to draft LB Jalen Reeves Maybin

I would've never thought it possible to say this 10 months ago but WE WON THAT frickING TRADE!

Yes there are times we missed Cooks in this offense but our OLine would've been devastated without the stabilizing presence of Ramczyk. Throw in the value of adding Hendrickson to the DL and this really worked out better than I could've imagined.

Save almost enough money to pay for a pro bowl punter.

The Ramczyk pick ended up being the most important addition to this year's squad imo. The O-line depth we had was sorely needed

What's weird is we actually out Patrioted the Patriots. Give up good player before they get a huge deal.

Here's my new rule:

Unless your own FA is legit top 5 at his position, don't pay him top 5 money. Seems simple but teams always overpay in FA.

I'd also only pay top 5 money to the top 4-5 positions, which in my opinion are:

1. QB
2. Pass rusher
3. CB
4. LT
5. Play making FS like Ed Reed,Sharper, Earl Thomas, etc.

It gets tricky if you have someone like a Julio Jones, Luke Kuechly, Alvin Kamara, etc. at a non premium position. There are always exceptions. But for the most part, it never pays to have the top paid RB in the league for example.

Looking forward to the tantrum he throws next off season when he asks for 12M+ and B.B. laughs in his face. HE is in for a rick RUDE awakening

You gonna factor in the money/assets we will need to pony up for everyone saying we need a WR in FA’ncy or the draft?

sure we can revisit at any time. Even with Cooks on team, people still would likely be arguing need for a 3rd WR on team.

Id still be on the TE train. We need massive improvement on 3rd down conversions.

After Devante Adams got paid like that, you gotta assume Cooks is going to get paid close to that. But hell, I'll just say 5/60mil for 12mil annual. He's getting what, 8.45m this year??

or

Ramczyk = 2.22m/yr
Ginn = 3.67m/yr
Paul Richardson = 8m/yr
Total = 13.89m/yr

So you're gonna get a WR2, WR3, and a starting RT for 13.89m or you get an elite WR2 for 8.45m which becomes 12m.

Then after Ginn's contract is over it becomes 10.22m for Ram+Richardson vs Cook's 12.

SO you’d say it left a pretty big hole if we need another WR either way huh

Cooks also lead a probable super bowl team in receiving is say the deal worked out for both

Yea I’m not really worried about what cooks will make 2 seasons from now. He was cheap labor out playing his contract,
