Down by 4, 2 timeouts left, Drew has 199 yards passing. 1 short of tying 2 short of breaking record.

Do you run and play the safer call of winning game and go for the record glory on a supposed more risky play call?

You do understand he has the rest of the season to break the record right?

i mean you could try the pass on 1st down maybe less expected knowing you can have 2 or 3 runs at disposal to get 3 yards next.

I'm passing on 1st, running on 2nd, running Taysom Hill/Kamara RPO on 3rd, on 4th down you are out of timeouts so you can run or pass (I'm putting the ball in Drew's hands and letting him make the decision at that point).

You always get the W first. Drew will even tell you that.

nfl been running them qb tappy tap plays to an underneath runner that counts as a pass these days. Maybe do a tappy tap to Taysom.

of course, but its not like we don't pass from these positions previously. Its just an obvious "oh look at what they trying to do" in that spot.

Go for the win.

That being said, we often roll right and pass to the fullback in that situation.

In your scenario you have enough timeouts and time to do most anything. You have to pass on first down imo (and not get sacked) to preserve flexibility on the next 3 plays. If you don't convert on 1st, you can then run OR pass on any of the next 3 downs because of Timeouts, thus keeping the Defense guessing.

It is why I STILL think it was the right call for the Seahawks to pass in the Superbowl on that down. It was just a great play made by the defender.

Have Jermon Bushrod report eligible. Put Taysom in with Kamara, Ingram and Line in the backfield. Have Taysom hand to Zach Line, have Line Pitch to Kamara and have Kamara throw to Brees behind the line of scrimmage. While all of this is going on have Ingram Headbutt Bushrod and have Bushrod fake injury for a few seconds, get up and sneak into the end zone and let Drew Brees complete a Jump Pass to Bushrod.

Play would serve a few purposes.

1) Score Td
2) Get record
3) Make another classic Redskins -Saints game
4) Burn about 15 seconds so our defense would have less of a chance to blow the lead.
5) If it doesn’t work, you still have 2 timeouts, 15 seconds and 3 downs to work with.
