Tell me how many players played 68+ last year

This injury sucks, and the staff will probably keep him out until the all star break, but it is what it is.

But I don't get these arguments. There are a lot of good players that play a lot of games. Hell look at LeBrons career average per season. People for some reason act like Zion needs to be on load management. Has he played too many games so far in his career or something? Are you seriously concerned if he plays 68+ games.

If things go well, he'll probably play 50 games. No telling how many with B.I. I feel terrible for Zion and it's like the Pels can't catch a break. But people seriously need to give it a rest on being content with him playing 50 games acting like it's no big deal or that no star players play full seasons.

Pels should not let Zion play until March every year. Try and maximize his availability.

I can distinctly see Naji rubbing his hands together saying “I’m fixin’ to eat.”

Fortunately we should be getting BI and Larry back soon,
Who knows? BI has missed 19 games with what is supposedly only a bruised toe. Either is was worse that they let on or BI has a lower pain tolerance than a 2 year old.

Yeah, if only a re-evaluation in 3 weeks, likely 5-6 weeks before we see him.

“Short term” = 2-3 months for this fragile duo …

Dude's anatomy is a blessing and a curse for basketball, he bullies his way around the court but it just wrecks his lower body with all that weight shifting and hammering down

he's going to be riddled with injuries for a large portion of his career unfortunately, it's just the nature of his build

I think this is going to end up being one of those wake up calls where Zion starts being told he has to start utilizing his mid range game he supposedly works on all the time if he plans to play in the league more than a few years.

He’s basically a running back that finishes off his feet, trying to play 82 games a year. Driving 16 times per game and increasingly teams are throwing their biggest guys to meet him at the rim with as much contact as they can get away with. Then he’s being asked to go as hard as possible defensively cause they try to exploit him there.

Obviously it’s not as much moment to moment physicality as an actual running back, but across a season where you are doing that every other day, shits gotta be taxing on the body

Yeah, that's why we really needed BI to take some of the offensive pressure off of him. If Ingram had returned to the lineup two weeks ago, I bet this injury doesn't happen.

Trying to play 82 games? Pelicans will be lucky if he can play 50 games a year and last another 4 years. Was having a great season too.
And now the injury virus has also infected BI ...

Ironically he took several of those in the game he injured his hamstring in. I didn't get to watch the whole game, but the parts I saw I remember seeing at least 2-3 of his 10 makes being shots. He seemed to decide it was easier to shoot over PJ Tucker than try to break through the wall.

this is legitimately catastrophic. that hamstring is going to linger for the rest of the season and it's going to hamper his explosiveness.

A hamstring strain is not catastrophic, just take a deep breath and calm down.

The answer: Zion needs to dribble up to the "wall"...stop...and toss a pass out to an open player at the 3-pt line. Far less stress on Zion's body & will eventually lead to less & less of a "wall", at which point Zion's path to the goal is much easier & far less stressful.

Zion taking a midrange shot from 12' or so will do NOTHING to lessen the "wall" he will face for the rest of his career. Teammates...shooting from outside or cutting to the basket...will.

If they don’t allow it to heal, then this could be the case.

If they try to rush him back then he will reinjure it pretty quick like Booker.

We all know that we will not do that

They just need BI back and he'll destroy the wall. Trey is going to be a nice player over time but his reluctance to punish teams for playing these type of defenses haven't really helped Zion much. BI on the other hand would go scorch earth seeing these type of coverages Zion is receiving.

Woj just gave a semi update and expects Zion to be out at least a month. He also said this was not a mild strain.
