We don't know that they are being overly cautions. Zion may be telling them it doesn't feel right yet.

We thought they were being overly cautious with BI, but Jen Hale said before the Kings game that BI still had some soreness in his toe which is why they rested him.

Bingo

People are already going down eh same predictable path as they did with BI, which as a few of us kept pushing back on, the team/players arent doing this for spite.

BI's toe is still not better despite proclamations it was fully healed weeks ago, and Zion being out longer than hoped for probably also means the obvious: he's not right yet.

This sounds like a setback.

Missing that time of practice coming out of the All-Star break really sucks

At the end of the day these guys have been injury prone af and we aren’t going to achieve anything great with this team if this keeps constantly happening.

They made sure to hit on that during the post-game interview with Jen last night. It was very awkward, almost felt scripted.

This is so frustrating. We have a pretty well built team, with assets to make it better. None of that matters cuz our 2 stars never play. Considering the one season Zion was healthy was the covid year with limited fans, this city has barely gotten the chance to see him play live. 28 non covid year home games in 4 years...

Zion is going to miss almost two months with a hamstring strain.

That seems like a lot.

I don't get how some are saying the medical staff is over precautions do you rember how Zion got hurt in the first place playing 3 games in 4 nights in 3 different cities while logging heavy minutes and high usage for a extended stretch. Zion is just injury prone and all we can hope for is we catch some breaks with his health like Embid and Steph because his talent is undeniable.

Well, it’s probably exacerbated by the fact that he weighs 285 pounds (probably more now since he hasn’t played in 6 weeks)

A lot more strain on the hamstring than usual

I guess we should be looking at Booker’s recovery timeline

He weighs about 115 pounds less, but he’s had multiple hamstring injuries, so the Suns are probably super conservative with him at this point.

Wait until you see what kind of shape he is in ... imagine sitting out a month will have packed some pounds on him

Earlier shel said it sounds like a grade 2 strain, I looked it up and that's a 4-8 week recovery time. 8 Weeks would be Feb 27th, which is coincidentally the week after the ASB.

We got our hopes up through a combination of the team not telling us enough and us being Charlie Brown kicking the football thinking Zion could be on time or even ahead of schedule instead of sticking to the back end of the expected recover time range.

frick that. Our FO should be ashamed of itself. If it's grade 2, then tell us that. If there is a set-back, then tell us that. Don't carry their water for them, homie.

I'm not even sure how shel divined it was grade 2 other than the time frame we're in.

I don't think I've heard a thing about Dyson other than he has an ankle. When I saw it live it looked like a high ankle sprain which is typically 6-8 weeks meaning a mid March return for him. I guess we'll determine the diagnosis on that one too by how long he's out.

Man I don't care when Zion comes back at this point if he's healthy. We've seen too many players come back early from these injuries and get reaggravated, hurt, etc. Team is tracking towards a top 4 seed and I need Zion for 10 games before playoffs.

That's the right way to go about it. We can't afford to have any of our stars out during the stretch run. He needs to get healthy for us to legitimately compete in the playoffs.

We have a soft schedule so we should be able to manage for a bit. I think the way we handled BI and Z's injuries will be the most important decisions for our run this year.

It's really a joke. I'd love to know how being so secretive about health updates is in any way beneficial. All it does is create false hope and animosity.

That is how.

They 1st said he would be re-evaluated in 3 weeks, so that alone would suggest 4 weeks or more to return, which would be more than needed if it were grade 1, so logical deduction told me it was grade 2.

Chicken needs to get you a press pass so you could ask "So it's a grade 2 strain?"

Make it happen! I'll even drive down to NO for tomorrow's media session just to ask the 1 question and intro myself as, "This is shel311 from TigerDroppings"

Just say: "We expect him to miss 6-8 weeks"

The end. Other teams do this all the time
