Whats more important Zion playing in game 5 in back to back, traveling on same day, 3 games in 4 nights OR Zion playing 50 plus games and being ready for playoffs? Because I’m pretty sure thats what coaching/training staff is thinking. If you’re thinking well he should be able to do both hes paid millions. Everyone who’s a pels fan knows he probably can’t. I don’t like it but thats Zion.

Knee Tendinitis

I may be mistaken here, but isn’t Tendinitis a chronic issue?

If so, expect him to turn into a Kawhi where he has to rest 40+ games a year

“He himself has only played in like 110 games in his entire career “

- thats why they’re resting him lol

They didnt wrap him in bubble wrap last year. He plays back to back- he get injured with hamstring. Honestly I have no idea what you do with him.

I don’t think so but it can linger for a while. I’ve had it but it’s never been recurring

1. Both of those things are possible. 2. Doing what they are already doing has not helped him in the past.

Games played are down and injuries are up. Just like SVG said, it's hurting some players by doing that. There's a correlation to more rest has equaled more injuries.

I mean I wouldn’t even call this a normal back to back. They’ll barely be in New Orleans 2-3 hours and then have to play a game.

Calm down, Janice

You may be right but personally I would take the theory of resting him. Like I said I have no idea what you do with him. I don’t think pelicans do either. But if they play him tonight and he gets a major injury- many people and fans would blame pels for playing him. Its a damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Isn't Zion under 25? Can he not run on consecutive days? Is his body so fragile that he needs extra rest because the plane was delayed?

Also, why fricking sit him with a rest designation? Let him dress out and play him like 15 minutes. Or don't play him at all, but have him available.

NBA would probably do an investigation if they didn’t play him at all and there was no rest designation.

It’s sad the 32 year old plays 70% more games than our two stars. CJ was playing with a fricked up thumb and other injuries for half the season last year. Larry as well

I’ve worked 10 to 12 hour days for most of my life( I’m 57) How can a 23 year old man not be able to play a basketball game for an hour? I’m being serious, I really don’t understand

Yeah, because you take the physical beating he does and would miss multiple days of work with a hamstring or soft tissue injury due to the demands of the job?

Tell me you are trolling as usual and do not watch the games without saying it.

Lol I love the lets compare what I do to NBA player analogies. Because what you do for work is very similar to a professional basketball players job hahaha

The truth is somewhere in the middle. He nearly had a triple double, yes. But he was pretty bad last night overall IMO.

He was -7, and I think it's one of the times the eye test supports it and not just random.

He gave what I felt was the worst effort I've ever seen him give defensively in his 5 seasons.

We went on the 10-0 run in the 4th to get up double digits when he was on the bench. We outscored OKC 20-11 in the 1st 5.5 minutes of the 4th. We did get 2 or 3 quick scores as soon as he came in. But once we went to the Zion iso offense, the offense completely stalled out, mostly Zion's doing IMO. We went from the 4:30 mark to around 1:30 without scoring a single point.

To clarify, I'm not saying we shouldn't have gone back to Zion obviously, but just pointing out that we had 20 points in less than half a quarter, and then stalled out when giving the ball to Zion last night, thus the thinking that he wasn't as good as the raw numbers may have suggested.
