Griff screwed us with Stan, Adams and Bled, but Zion needs to bare some of the responsibility for the disinterest from free agents and the bad publicity the team is getting.

The national media is running wild with the reports of his family wanting him out, etc., etc.

Have we heard one thing from Zion about this? Have we heard him say anything about Willie Green?

Has he said anything positive at all?

We see high profile stars recruit FAs all the time but I never hear shite from Zion.

Maybe it's out there and I just don't hear it.

But if he wants help, he sure as shite isn't doing anything to get it.

His silence is hurting the team.

And yes, so it begins, the fanbase's gradual turn against the star player. Rinse, repeat.

I had real hope Zion would be more Duncan/Giannis like. But there's more and more smoke that he's just another coddled superstar with idiot relatives that control him.

My cynical psyche has been in my head the last few days thinking “this would not be an issue if we had Morant”

You're absolutely right, but I guarantee Zion and his family don't see it that way.

It sucks to say but it's true. I can also understand how Zion feels but players and fans want different things.

You really don't hear about it until after the star arrives to the new team.

Yea, that's a you problem, not a Zion problem.

Who is he supposed to recruit? He’s been in the league two Covid/injury impacted seasons. Anyone is his age bracket and class are not available. These guys recruiting have built those relationships over the course of many seasons in the league

He’s going to comment on Willie Green, who has been our coach for two weeks? What would he say about Green, who he may not have even met yet?

Him saying he wants to be here will make you feel better? You can pull the quotes from CP3, AD and Jrue saying the same. It doesn’t matter

Y’all eat this dumb shite up. The onus is on Griffin to put a competitive roster together. This organization has earned no good will amongst its players. It’s been a shite show for years and especially Zion’s first two seasons.

Zion has put out one of the most historical first 85 games ever. There is no blame on him. GTFOH

Zion is too busy sliding into DMs and hitting 3s off the court than he is on the court.

There is nothing wrong with exerting pressure on a Franchise 85 games in and handcuffing your GM? Does griff even need to spend a 1st to move off bled and adams if Zion is Ja Morant? Griff has to take the vast majority of the blame here for sure for the original mistakes, but the Grizz have the luxury of making their team worse short term and the only difference between the organizations is that since the play in exists they get to pretend they have had playoff teams. Again all that being said I completely understand how Z feels but it's definitely hurting our offseason.

Zion has taken a huge downgrade this offseason in my eyes.

I think, unfortunately, his reaction to us winning the lottery on draft night was accurate. He doesn't want to be here. He's never wanted to be here. His family doesn't want to be here.

He's going to try hard on the court and be great, but he's not going to do shite-all else for this franchise. He will sign his Max, and then bolt at the first opportunity.

None of that might be true. But that is certainly what it FEELS like, doesn't it?

Let’s deal in facts. How has Zion done this?

Griffin brought in Favors, JJ (who then trashed the org furthering the narrative) Melli, Adams, Bledsoe, SVG, failed to trade Lonzo in season etc. This is like 5-7 years worth of bad moves jammed into 2 years. What has Griffin done to build any goodwill with any of his players? Stop apologizing for this dude. He’s had his chance to prove something.

So does anyone think Zion could be the first player in history to play his fifth year on his rookie qualifying offer to become an unrestricted free agent the following year? Or if the writing is on the wall, do the Pels and Zion find some way to trade him for some players and picks (maybe mid season his 4th year to a playoff contender).

I'm concerned that even if the Pels are able to make the playoffs, Zion won't want to be in NO for a number of reasons. Small market, team management, etc., etc. Zion certainly makes enough money off the court and may consider his long term marketing prospects would be better in a bigger market and more than equal the super max dollars the Pels could offer.

Would this scenario be the last nail in the coffin for NBA basketball in NO?

He could and he's probably the most likely we ever seen to maybe do it.

But I still don't see it happening. The amount of money he'd have to sacrifice is massive, I believe it's at least $60mil+ if not more.

If he's going to play on the QO, that would be in year 5, so 5 years with the Pels. If that's the case, he may as well sign the extension that kicks in year 5, then just demand a trade 1 year into the extension after year 5.

He’s had 3 coaches in 3 years, too. Lol

For Zion, about as unstable as a first 3 years could be.

Who eases his mind? Certainly not Griffin through the moves he makes. The socialite real estate agent that fell into an nba franchise? Who?

Pelicans going to lose Zion. As a fellow small market fan of the Orlando Magic I can’t help but pass the razor blade and laugh.
