So, you expect his arms to look like guys who weigh 215 and 220-225? Would you also expect his game to be the same or are you playing 2K and creating your own player

Yes. I expect him to be the pinnacle of physical condition. I would prefer him playing, even at a diminished level of power. Perhaps he can improve other aspects of his game to compensate. But the Maggette build should be his goal. It is perfect.

He should weigh under 250lbs. He should be lean and ripped. I have poured over 100s of comments on Zion by anyone associated with basketball or the fitness community. No one believes that his current physique, condition, or goals will amount to future success. His body will continually break down. It's a fact.

I have been saying the same thing over 4 years. I'm going to keep saying the same thing, cause it is so blatantly obvious. Especially when people try to boast or be excited cause he is somewhat trim. It's not enough..

Being a native New Orleanian and lifelong Saints/Hornets/Pelicans fan I think we have a complex as a fan base with college superstars. Anthony Davis, Reggie Bush, Chris Paul, Rickey Williams, etc.

One hiccup and everyone is on the “bust” and “Mr. Glass” bandwagon. I get fan bases can be fickle but I’ll be damned if we don’t seem to shite on these types of players way more than other fan base. This board would be absolutely melting down if we had drafted Wemby and he played like he did last night. I haven’t really seen that with the Spurs faithful.

Yea. This board is usually really high or really low. There's no in-between. Look at the Hawkins yesterday for example. Several dudes trying to validate themselves by dogging on Hawkins and he didn't even have a bad game. Then all of the guys in the draft that they'd rather have over Hawkins ended up having worse games.

It's always the allure of another player that's always greener pastures.l here. Zero patience and the most narcissistic outlook especially when things aren't ideal.

Zion was the #1 pick. Not only was he the first, but most experts were hyping him to be a generational talent. He not only has the potential to be a franchise player, but he’s got potential to be the face of the fricking league.
Having said that, it’s real frustrating to watch someone piss away that opportunity because they aren’t dedicated to their craft. Now he has the right and free will to do whatever the frick he wants with his life & his god given talent. At his current trajectory, he’s pissing away this asset the team owns and I have a hard time cheering for that scenario. If he was putting 100% in and injuries were holding him back, I could understand why you’d be upset with people goofing on him. However that ain’t the case. You keep those rose colored glasses on and complain about negative fans. Meanwhile ya boy is busy tanking your pick

I think Zion needs to slim down but being big is part of his game.

you want him healthy and to put less pressure in his joints but his size is part of what makes
him a super star.

there is a reason he’s a franchise guy and Maggette wasn’t

And you don't know shite! You have proven that many times on this board. Unless you are working with him as a trainer/nutritionist, you have no idea what his ideal weight should be. If he played at those weights, he would have no game whatsoever and would have to redevelop himself. It is like saying you do not like the way a neurosurgeon thinks and assume he should think like a lawyer instead. You make no sense whatsoever. Maybe we should draft simply on how much you like their arms.

It's not just me saying it. I have never seen anyone state that he can have a somewhat long career weighing over 250lbs. It's especially true for him, given his playing style. Can you find or remember anyone remotely similar doing it? Can you point to a person that supports him staying big (above 250lbs)?

Yes. He has to reconstruct his body. We all knew that when he was drafted. It's supposed to be an ongoing process. There was a lot of us that talked about him becoming more of a wing (3/4), especially if he didn't get taller. We figured he would shed the baby fat and his conditioning would improve.

Aesthetics matter. Generally speaking, most great players have incredible physiques. There are outliers, like Jokic. But they do not primarily rely on physical ability or play above the rim, like Zion.

It is incredible to me that this is remotely a debate. I'm not even sure what your point is, other than you think I am being mean. Do you not believe that he needs to be substantially smaller?

I just back here from the future. Zion hurts his toe/calf/ankle/hammy just before preseason, but the good news is that he’s just 2 weeks away…
