I feel bad for the poor guy. It’s been a rough season for him on and off the court. Every time he gets back on the court and dominates something happens (injury, COVID19, and now family issues). That’s a lot for a young man to deal with in his first year in the NBA.

he and his family are still looking at trouble for an alleged payment to go to duke.

It's possible the fact that it's been 3 days and the Pelicans haven't brought another player into the bubble to replace Zion is a good sign that they intend him to be back sooner than later. But that may be me reading too much into this, I just hope everyone in his family is ok

I thought we could only replace a player who left because of the virus.

You're reading too much into it. There's no way that we would replace Zion unless there were no chance of his coming back. For one thing, we have 15 healthy players in the bubble right now and don't really need more.

It's likely that someone in Zion's family is or was near death. If that person recovers, then Zion comes back soon. If that person dies (or has already died), then who knows? People process death differently. Some need to be alone or simply stay with close family members to grieve for a while (in which case we might not see Zion again this year), and some people need distraction from their grief, and working helps them (in which case Zion might come back soon).

Speculation is pointless. We'll know when Zion wants us to know.

Yeah sure you can speculate all you want to. But the point is it doesn’t matter because no one knows for sure until he lets us know. Therefore it’s pointless. But fell free. Speculate.

Great! I didn't tell you not to. No one will call the cops or even RA you to Chicken if you want to write some fanfic about Zion's secret love child with Jen Hale.

I apologize for saying that it would be pointless, because maybe you are a real Shakespeare of fan fiction, and maybe your speculation would be worth reading.

But I doubt it. It's likely pointless.

This entire board is pointless. What are you talking about? We speculate about the pels here. That’s the whole

He got hurt during the first workout and went outside the bubble to seek treatment and/or another opinion.

No. We know nothing. We don’t know if he will be back at all.

My own speculation is he would need to be back in bubble by the 23rd to make game 1.

What would be the reason for saying he had a family emergency instead of simply saying he was injured?
Also remember, there's NBA media in the bubble with them so it'd be harder to keep that lie under wraps than normal.

You can easily go on Pels social media pages and see he participated in more than one workout.

What’s to update. He has a family medical emergency. Let the guy handle his business. When he’s ready he’ll come back.
