Yes that's my understanding now as well.

If he does not get tested daily, then the clock restarts.

Of course this happens. The lack of information usually means it will be twisted many times by others

so earliest he can return to the team is 7/27? that is if he is only away from the bubble for 7 days or less?

Earliest he could return is technically in 4 days, if he returned back today.

The rules as clarified are:

for excused absence, 4 days of quarantine, but you have to register 7 days of negative tests previously. AKA you have to get tested every day in the bubble and every day you are outside of it.

I just hope whoever is sick is not in the hospital. The last place we want Zion hanging out is a hospital.

Nah, I would refer to Shel's explanation instead of my previous ones in this thread. I interpreted wrong initially.

Making sure I understand this. As long as he is tested daily outside the bubble. He only has to be negative 4 days inside the bubble?

Example... He is out the bubble for 3 days and gets tested negative all 3 days. When he comes back and has 4 negatives in 4 days he is clear to play?

Yes, sort of.

He was getting tested every single day inside the bubble as well, so those days inside count towards the 7 days. For instance if he literally returned back today, and he was tested 7 days in a row in the bubble (he was), then he only has to quarantine for 4 days.

Not sure if that's correct but that makes logical sense

Like I said your tests inside the bubble count towards your 7 days.

So he just has to make sure he gets tested every single day outside the bubble.

If he does not, then the clock restarts.

If the game is on July 30th. He has until the 26th to come back? If they are all negatives, maybe the 25th to play it safe

It is unlikely they would play him in a game unless he has 2-3 days of practice. I think he would need to be back on the 23rd-ish to have a chance at playing in the first game.

all the guessing in this thread ignored why he left.

suppose sick relative is touch and go. thats why people go home. because relative is passing.

youve got a couple days before relative passes.

then a wake. funeral.

it could be a week or more before hes back.

without zion, melli starts.

certainly changes coaching.
you have to game plan utah as if hes not back.
we are going to see hayes more than i expected.

Lets start the countdown now!

Roughly 168 hours and counting!

Why not Kenrich? He can play better defense against their starting 4 and allows us to keep more scoring on the bench.
