literal worst case scenario

Zion won't be back
Team has completely given up
Team has lost faith in Willie
Willie has been exposed as nothing more than pep talker
Supporting cast has holes for days
CJ's age cliff is approaching quickly now

For this season, yes. Long term I think it's going to force some needed moves that wouldn't have happened had Zion not torn his hamstring.

I get this sinking feeling Zion is going to ultimately have a solid, long career in this league.....it just will be AFTER he learns how to be an adult NBA player with his body and that will be AFTER he leaves here.

Or, he is Embiid but never figures it out. And there is a 30 for 30 on him and his body becomes a cautionary tale of the type of human that can not work in this league.

Increasingly I am not seeing much in between and that is depressing.

frick Windhorst man. Least in touch dude when it comes to Pels. If Zion tore it they'd announce he's done for the year by now

Imaging is supposed to happen "this week". If we don't hear "He's progressing well and he'll be re-evaluated in 2 weeks" by Friday, then he, and the team, are probably done for the season.

I too fully trust Griff when he's giving us Zion injury updates!

If it's a full tear it's 3 months. The team would've announced it.

Partial tears are 4-8 weeks. That's the cusp of end of the season/play-in range.

If it's a fricking partial tear and the org won't say one way or another they need to seriously fricking evaluate how they deliver information to us.

Well now we know why this team has played so lethargic since he went down

If he doesn’t play at least 50-55 games next year, he probably never will and that will be the nail in the coffin to David Griff and Gayle Benson’s time here.

Why Gayle? The NBA is in a great spot and you can make lots of money being a bad team.

I think another colossal failure like this might force her hand to sell to someone else who wants to keep the team here

I’m not understanding this logic. She wants to keep the team here… And I don’t think anyone deserves blame for Zion. You 100% always take him and there was always a risk about his body.

If Zion is truly done for the year, we might as well shut it down.

Sit CJ too.

Full tank.

Start Dyson. Give Kira tons of minutes. Trey tons of minutes.

Make BI play. Just cause.

Yeah might as well just get CJ that surgery so he’s ready for next season. Shut BI down too. There’s just no reason for them to be out there with us struggling like this and no timetable for Zion to return

Force her hand? She isn't selling the team and nobody is going to make her or pressure her to do so. This shouldn't even be a discussion. The Pels are her baby like the Saints were Tom's.
