By all accounts he is just awful to deal with.

It blows my mind you all are still trying to rationalize for Griff on this.

Seriously, what is this boards obsessions with trying to manufacture character assassinations on Wood to defend Griff’s idiocy?

There have been multiple articles and tweets from other stops he’s been.

Apparently he is just an a-hole that no one likes.

It has nothing to do with Griffin.

We’ve gone through this multiple times now.

I ask for receipts and the best we get was Wood asking his fans where he should go in FA as he entered FA and some immaturity issues early in his career(which he admits to and talked about having a come to Jesus moment when he was in China, saying he either needed to start dedicating himself or he’ll be stuck there or out of the sport).

This has literally been made up head cannon since the thread about his release from posters trying to come up with excuses for a bad move on Griff’s part.

I am with Bronc on this. I am usually a defender of our front office, but the Wood/Melli mistake is real.

As for Houston trying to get rid of Wood now, they likely want to get rid of him because they need to tank and start a full rebuild. I don't think that this has anything to say either way about whether or not Wood is a good teammate.

I’m pretty sure it’s Lee or Green but I think they’re waiting until after the finals to announce it.

Oh really? Because I’ve seen many things on it. It took me literally 10 seconds to find this:

quote:

"I think Wood's incredibly talented, we know the numbers," Russillo said. "I think he's a tough guy to play with. I think he's a tough guy to have around... I think he's kind of a tough teammate. I'm talking about the locker room stuff, doesn't get the ball enough, shaking his head in the timeout, making sure everybody knows that he's pissed, you know. That kind of stuff."

Yeah, with that contract, and you were on it early, you were really on it," Russillo said, referencing O'Connor's article about Wood from 2020. "But I don't know that there's a pity party for any team when he's gone, alright, so I'll just leave it at that."

That was an article from like a week ago.

How about this one?

quote:

Pistons coach Dwane Casey said he was warned against signing Christian Wood. "Everybody's calling from all over the country saying 'don't take him, leave him alone, he's a bad guy', I never saw that, never experienced it, never saw it."

Hmmmm.

Do you think we are making it up man?

There is a league perception that he is just a total a-hole. There’s a reason why everyone has dumped him and he hasn’t stayed anywhere more than like a year.

Did you even bother reading your own links or were you so consumed with satisfying your confirmation bias you completely reinterpreted your own quote???

That tells me they are true. His coach isn’t going to openly put him on blast. His words are also careful. He never SAW that. HE never experienced it.

Yet MULTIPLE different people called him from multiple organizations and said don’t.

And here we have Kevin OC and Russillo both saying the same thing. Recently.

Dude has obviously pissed off multiple people and teams.

Is hunter worth even Jax if he caps out his potential?

I may be in the minority but I think NAW is ready to be an 18-22ppg guy next season. There are plenty of things thet can be criticized but the trade down has given us 2 guys that haven’t even began to reach their full potential.

His former coach, that he no longer plays for, emphatically calling bullshite on rumors and slander, tells you the rumors from people not his coach are true.

This is literally the definition of motivated reasoning playing out in real time.

Literally concocting conspiracies in real time to dismiss the stated words of a credible witness and replace them with the narrative that would confirm what you want to be true.

All made up bullshite amirite

quote:

"I’m proud of the young man, the time we put in with him," Casey said. "Right before the pandemic he was over at our house with my family and kids, had a cookout and had a great time. You get close to guys like that. I’m a guy like that, I like the downtrodden. I like the guys that people have doubted. All I ask Christian to do is meet me halfway and he did that and then some. I’m glad to see a guy like that find success."

All a roose and what Casey I’m sure meant to say is that Wood is a terrible person that punched his daughter and he wouldn’t spit on if he was on fire as a he walked by….this board sometimes

No coach in the league in their right mind would say a player was a problem, they would never get any kind of star player to ever want to play for them after throwing a guy under the bus.

If he were out the league and said that, then I would say there maybe something there.

They don’t have to go out of their way to praise someone either, which is what Casey did on several occasions after Wood left. I mean do you think he is just making that story up whole cloth(don’t answer that, I already suspect anyone that thinks that has their mind racing with BS rationalizations and conspiracies and I just can’t lol).

This board at times feels like another dimension where critical thinking goes to die.

I think we will see this year that we actually won that trade.

I hope that is the case, because that means we have two players that are together better than potentially the third best overall player on a contender, but people on this board I don’t think give nearly enough respect to how good Hunter was trending before the injury.

A legit 3 level scorer that moves the ball, gets to the line increasingly well, without dominating the ball and one of the better defensive wings in the league that can switch comfortably on to all five positions. All as a second year player.

He’s a guy that just fits basically on any team and makes them better.

If we get better than that out of Hayes and NAW that would be exciting

Why would a former coach offer up info stating multiple people told him there were issues if multiple people didn't tell him there were issues?

When Griffin was hired and we had the #1 pick all he talked about was organically growing around Zion in a sustainable way.

Tired of this "organic" bs, give me a straight processed, bad for your health, championship contending team. He complains about Cleveland not being an organic team with LeBron yet he's recognized as a championship winning gm for that team. He needs to turn off Hoosiers, get his head out of house arse, hire a coach, and let that coach do his job without interference.
