The NBA has changed since then.

You realize Curry is 5 years older than Davis right?

Find a way to have both play on the Pels and they would be unstoppable. Davis needs a dynamic PG and Curry more than fits the bill. Holliday is good, but he's no Steph Curry.

I'd trade AD for Curry ...... and Kerr, Klay, Draymond, AI, Bogut, and their noisy arena. Take any of those out of the trade and its a no deal

An elite big is always better than an elite guard especially at their levels

This isn't the 80s. It's a perimeter game. Guards and wings dominate.

I'd still probably take Davis, but this is very close.

Well it shouldn't be. Davis is 5 years younger and not even close to his prime yet arguably better than Curry while he is actually in his prime. This is dumb as frick to even be a discussion . An elite big man > an elite point guard

No way do you trade Davis for anyone, but Curry is just sick.

NO. You are forgetting rebounds, blocks, defense.

While clearly a troll OP, darryljames and nostradamus make interesting points about the "big over small" truism.

The game is different now- much more of a perimeter game. Who is making the decisions down the stretch for the Pelicans? The guy with the ball. Whom do many complain about? The guy with the ball. Davis isn't that guy. And Davis isn't a post up guy like the bigs of old. He still impacts every facet of the game, but you have to work to get him the ball in ways that you don't for perimeter guys. And his shot creation game is still a work in progress (the KD comps I've seen here are absolutely ludicrous). You take Davis over anyone else in the league right now, but the Pelicans need better guard play if they want to go anywhere.

I'd argue Davis is more of a perimeter player than a classic post big man. As he refines that jumper and steps out beyond the arc and adds a few post dribble go to moves he is going to redefine the PF position.

I'd rather him work on post game and defensive awareness this offseason than moving out to 3 pt, but I think that's a losing battle.

Absolutely. Been saying that.

Tbh, I thought we'd see more of that this year. Especially the 3 pointer.

Anthony is not yet built for the post. His body can't take the pounding. In fact, none of the Pels can't handle physical basketball. We've struggled against any type of defensive pressure all year. Ironic, for a defensive minded coach.
