How many of you would go all in on getting Lauri and Kessler? I mean BI and a boat load of picks?

Yes, this should be our primary choice at the moment.

Hope it be Kings picks to Jazz, BI to Kings and we grab Kessler and whatever is left. I’m just glad Pelicans are talking to Jazz. They have a good amount of centers on that team right now. Markannen most likely is connected with us because we are a third team. I don’t see him coming here unless they think he can play the 5.

Trey is way closer to camera than Brandon. I watched that video.

Jen Hale is like 6 1/2 ft so Trey is close to 8

Where would you play him though? There’s no chance you can play him at center and survive. He’d get eaten alive by bigger guys on the glass. He’s really a 3 that just happens to be 7’. At best he’s a stretch 4 but you have Zion entrenched at the 4. Walker Kessler is by far the best fit for what we need but BI for Kessler straight up won’t work. I’d gladly give up BI to get Kessler and Jonathan Isaac from Orlando to be our starting and backup centers though.

Isaac just extended (and is not a center).

Trey himself says 6'9.5 so that checks out.

Actually he is. He played the 5 most of his minutes for Orlando last year and was very good there. Granted he’s a stretch 5, not a true center like Jonas but he is a really good rim protector and is very athletic that can switch on defense. Kessler would be your true center.

I love how in some of y’all’s minds the thing he said 2 years ago is gospel and fact but what he says now is irrelevant

He doesn’t fit here. Why is this even a discussion

Let Danny feast on trading Lauri to whoever else in a three team deal. We just swoop in get Kessler and another serviceable player in the deal and try to not get fleeced. Win.

If he was very good, I wonder why he did not play more than 15 minutes a game.

I don’t know how this was such an issue. Someone compared Lauri and Trey as similar players. I stated Lauri is bigger than Trey in weight and size. Lauri is 7’0 and 240 and hence can play center at times. I went off the nba site which listed Trey at 6’8- Tales got offended because of some podcast told him otherwise. The point being whether Trey is 6’8 or 6’10- Lauri is still bigger and more suited to play center at longer periods of time.

He played very well in the playoffs against the Cavs. Almost like they unlocked something there. Agreed hes injury prone but he has a lot of potential.

Yes hence why they just gave him $84 million. He’s the new age center basically and he’s a fantastic human being off the court which we all know Griff places importance on. He had to overcome some nasty injuries early in his career but the last half of the year he really looked to have turned a corner in his development. I’m guessing he is now their starter at 5 with the backup they just brought back behind him. Wendell Carter Jr. will be on the move but I’m not very high on him as he’s not a great rebounder and doesn’t stand out for anything honestly. I also would have liked to get Mo Bamba as a backup 5 but the Clippers got him. Free agent centers are dwindling so it almost has to be a trade now. Why couldn’t Zion be 6’9” instead of 6’5”? I think he’d have been a terror at center if he had a little more height but he showed he can still be a really good rebounder when he’s into the game.
