This is where I'm at. frick the defense at this point. Add Buddy and Lauri and let's try to score 247 points / game.

Dang wish we would’ve offered Matthew hurts a two way instead of Houston. Guy shot over 70% 3s in his workout with NBA teams. He would’ve been great as a backup PF for us at barely any cost at all.

3 years left at $20M each for a bench shooter that wants to start and can't play defense.
That's just not a good contract to have for us right now.

I know buddy shoots the 3 better than lonzo but if you are trading for buddy, why didn't you just give lonzo 4 for 80.

I’m down. And I do think this will be a very fun offense. ESPECIALLY if they are really able to land Buddy.

I have no idea what point your trying to make.
If I don’t want Buddy at 3/$60, I sure as shite don’t want Lonzo at 4/$80.

I would have rathered Grayson Allen at $4M for one year.

Wouldn't we get a first for taking on Buddy's contract? If so, that's a big difference

It's scoopB, but he's already nailed the Mike D’Antoni and Jaron Collins to Pels before anyone else in the national media did.
Not sure about D'Antoni, but he was not first on Collins. Isola reported it 2 days prior to Scoop B.

I don't think so. Also, if they like lauri why didn't they just get him back in the sign and trade.

Maybe it had something to do with keeping the money open.

Zion went on JJ's podcast during the season and they spent about 5 minutes discussing the Zion/JJ Pick and Pop action and how Memphis had no way to stop this play because if you stick with Zion you give an elite 3 point shooter an open 3. If you stick with JJ Zion has an opening to the basket. If you switch and guard both you're still trying to defend Zion 1 on 1.

2 grown arse men literally spent 5 minutes publicly laughing at how easily they punked other grown arse men that they have to play 4 times a year. That's how dominant they felt this 2 man game was.

That's why even though Buddy is on what's considered a bad contract, and this roster probably isn't the best fit for him with his lack of defense and desire to start, I still think you have to give it a try. Because Zion should be even more unstoppable when paired with a truly elite mobile 3 point shooter that shoots on the move and off screens and isn't just a C&S specialist.

There are only only a handful of players that fit this criteria of elite mobile shooter that run all over the court all possession long warping the defense. Even if Lonzo improved his 3 point shot to be a 40%+ 3 point shooter he still wouldn't be it because he only shoots the C&S well.

What Griff is trying to do this year, add more shooting to see what fits and figure out the defense later is what they should have done last year.

ATL, I love ya, but you are really using Redick as an example of the kind of player that Griffin should have obtained last season? We had Redick last season.

Redick undeniably went to shite last year, but the Redick of old would be perfect for us.

I think he is using the thought of Redick as a player more than actual Redick production from last year. JJ fell off a cliff. Buddy shouldn’t fall off that cliff for another 7 years.

While not elite, you just described Graham - that's his skill set.
