Just someone's quote tweet from listening to his podcast.

quote:

W: I don't think the Pelicans are done yet. I believe they still have some cap space.
G: They still have Josh Hart sitting out there as a restricted free agent too.
W: Right and they still have actually done the Devnote Graham Sign and Trade so there could possibly be they could expand that sign and trade.
G: They still got a bunch of picks to throw around all willy nilly?
W: There's been some rumblings about possibly maybe they could do a deal with Toronto to acquire Goran Dragic who Griff has a long term relationship with and now coaching consultant in the organization Mike D'Antoni also has a history with Dragic.
[side conversation about Mavs because Dragic has said he wants to play with Luka]
W: I've heard a couple of rumors out there about Josh Hart's...Josh Hart could still stay but I've heard some rumors about where Josh Hart could go in a Sign and Trade, so they do have some irons in the fire. V
W: I think Valanciunas wants an extension, so that's a thing [reminisces over the Adams extension]
[Discussed Athletic report of Charotte's interest in Markennan and whether Bulls want to keep him or not]
W: New Orleans does have SOME interest possibly in Markenannan [some was emphasized to imply not much]
W: New Orleans isn't done
[discussed how the Pels are FA losers and got worse]
W: I do think that Buddy Heild is still available on the market because they were ready to trade him to the Lakers. There's a possibilty that Buddy Heild could be on the move this offseason and I could actually see scenarios where Buddy Heild would make sense in New Orleans.

quote:

Keep an eye on this: Pelicans could try hard to expand the Memphis deal before it becomes official.

Buddy Hield is a name I’ve heard mentioned

I listened, that isn't really how it was said.

He was very vague and very "they MIGHT" not be done because they can make some room, and mentioned that Buddy would be a fit and he's heard some minor rumblings about Hart.

It wasn't anywhere near as confident as that tweet implies at all.

Just found the spot in the podcast. I'll do my best to transcribe:

Windhorst:
quote:

So I don't think the Pelicans are done yet. I believe they still have some cap space. They still haven't actually done the Graham S&T so they could possibly expand that S&T. There's been some rumbling about possibly doing a deal with Toronto to acquire Goran Dragic who Griff has a relationship with. Dantoni also has a history with Dragic.

I've heard a couple of rumors out there about Josh Hart. Josh Hart could still stay but I heard some rumors about where he could go in a S&T.

I think Jonas wants an extension. I like Val for them.

...

New Orleans I do think has some interest possibly in Markannen.

New Orleans isn't done. But I'm not blown away impressed.

The other thing I will say is I do think Buddy Hield is still available on the market because they were ready to trade him to the Lakers. There's a possibility that Buddy Hield could be on the move this offseason and I could actually see scenarios where Buddy Hield would actually make sense in New Orleans.

Never should have traded Buddy away in the first place. He’s been exactly what this team has been missing since he was drafted.

We keep talking about Buddy but would he even start?

I really don't want anyone pushing NAW to the bench.

He does later say "New Orleans isn't done, but I'm not blown away impressed with their situation."

Could just mean we still need to do something with Hart, but

Buddy for Cousins was absolutely the correct move at the time. If Cousins never got injured that would have changed the entire trajectory of the NBA. I would love buddy back, contract sucks but if Duncan Robinson can get 18 or so million for his shooting so can Buddy

Here's what they said about the Pels. Feel free to add it to the OP.

TL;DR Windhorst doesn't know anything other than the Pels aren't done, and the only thing that seemed sourced rather than completely speculative dot connecting is Hart could stay or go, and the Pels have interest in Dragic.

W = Windhorst G = Guest

How the frick did we get worse?

Lonzo? It's mind blowing that people think he's good.

Yeh, that is what they said. They pretty much laughed at how much better Lonzo Ball was than anyone we received.

I was like wait...they know it was Lonzo and not Lamelo, right?

This is awesome. You have most of the board crowing about how much better the backcourt has become. But then geeking out excited over the prospect that we might get Buddy Heild to start over NAW..

I'd actually prefer if Buddy came off the bench.

Buddy honestly isn't a perfect fit with the current roster, but he fits so well with Zion I think you have to try to figure it out.

when you have a chance to net a top 15 player, and Boogie was that before the injury, you shoot your shot. This is a shite take.

Huh? I’m not excited about buddy starting at all. I just said I don’t want him pushing naw to the bench.

Reading comprehension not your thing?

People on here, even myself, complain about this off season for the Pelicans, but I would be beyond upset if we gave Zo 20 million a year for the next 4 years. Our front office made the right move, I wish we could have added Powell but it’s not that simple.
