Are you saying you wouldn't trade Herb for Durant?

The salary cap doesn't work out, but you guys need to step back and remember that the goal is winning.

I like Herb a lot, and really want to see what year two looks like for him cause it will probably determine whether he will develop into a future fringe all star like player on the one end, or just sort of be what he is and that’s a really great DPOY and glue role player.

But either way, if you are shutting down a deal because you are unwilling to part with a top 100 player in the NBA for a top 5 player, it’s probably time to reevaluate your biases

there is nothing wrong with devotion to current players who have shown they deserve it.

Ingram, CJ, herb, JV, Trey, Jose, billy, Naji all deserve it. at some point you choose your guys and go. This isn’t 2K. I would rather be a fan of herb Jones than Kevin Durant regardless of the teams eventual ceiling. That is my prerogative, not a bias

Last year was just fun once it started coming together. I often wonder how Toronto fans truly feel about their championship won with a mercenary. Does it even seem real to them, or did it go by so fast and then Kawhi went away so it seems like a dream rather than something they built towards and accomplished.

I don't think they care, since it was their first.

I know I wouldn't. I care about the franchise more than any individual player. I just want to see them do something that's never been done before. Do whatever it takes.

if you don’t think he’s been a huge (and I mean huge) part of the three rookies’ development last year then you just aren’t paying attention.

did you see the video clip from when Lewis went to meet them on a road trip? He was in tears that Naji was so happy to see him.

100% deserves some fan love

Come on man lol, you are shutting down KD trades because of Naji and Billy?

That’s peak off-season hopium brain

Feeling the juice isn’t worth the squeeze if it costs you key parts of your core I get, that’s where I’m at cause it’s hard to see how losing Zion or Bi keeps us a title favorite even with KD, but that key core stops at CJ/BI/Zion, if KD is bought in, and you have a deal and all you are giving up is Herb/Dyson/Billy/Naji and a boatload of picks, you don’t hesitate.

I hesitate. I’m not trading Herb For a year or two of broken down no d playing KD.

I’ll go on record and say that KD has his worse year as a pro next year and his team gets no further than the 2nd round and he never even sniffs another Finals appearance.

KD
Simmons
Harden
Kyrie

Will never win shite.

KD and Kyrie already have rings and KD has been a top 5 player the last two seasons.

So I sort of wonder if you bothered watching any games outside the Pels?

Herb is a great find and story, but if he is the dealbreaker for 4 years of KD, that person should be checked for a brain tumor.

CJ/BI/KD/Zion would be the best core in the league. Title favorites even. Herb’s nice, but if giving him up means getting KD and keeping the core, you do it

Putting Naji on a pedestal is certainly a choice.

Herb is for the people though... would be super upset if we traded him for anyone....

Give me this young core as is, don't go trading anyone.

Move on from Kevin Durant to #Pelicans discussion!!!

1. Zion signing ‘designated rookie extension’ means he cannot be traded to Brooklyn (as long as Ben Simmons on roster).
2. I doubt Griff trades BI (whom he loves) + tons of assets for KD.
3. Nets won’t do deal without Z or BI.

Right after I send this tweet a league source I trust tells me, “Pelicans not out of KD sweepstakes.”

Which, if true, means NOLA and Brooklyn have to be exploring packages centered on Brandon Ingram

I don't think a deal has to include Ingram, you just need to put in enough assets to pull someone like Mitchell.

of course not
I used them as examples of current players that deserve fan affinity and choosing to prefer a team with guys like them on it vs a team with a galactic narcissist on it

the team we have is likable because there’s no assholes on it. We’ve had enough assholes all the way back to baron davis
