Did anybody really think he was going to be back in 3 weeks? Holding him out to try and make a run in the last 20% of the season and the playoffs.

No Zion on the bench. First time he hasn't been there this season, that I remember.

Jen's update sounded like an unspoken setback.

Wishful thinking, hoping to see him in the Garden in two weeks.

Think he went to LA to witness the King break the scoring record.

It was all in the script, didn’t you read it? Lol

I know Hammy's are tricky and I'm not a doctor.

But originally it was 3 weeks. Then when we got to 3 weeks Jen Hale comes on a broadcast and says "Great news - We're told Zion is right on schedule and could be back in 2 weeks".

And now it's been 2 weeks since that report and we have this.

I think we're just going to have to accept the fact that our two best players are probably never going to play much more than 50 games in a regular season.

And I guess we can debate to what extent that hurts us, but I could definitely list a few ways I think it does.

It was that they would re-evaluate him in 3 weeks. Which they did.

However, I have always agreed that this team does a lousy job of communicating the truth of injuries to the fans.

Just say, "this is likely a 4-6 week injury, but they are tricky and could be shorter or longer. We will see where he is in 3 weeks."

Anyway, even if he is healed, our conservative training staff likely does not see the benefit of bringing him back before the ASB and would prefer the extra conditioning.

I don't always get the local broadcast, but I think you are wrong on some of the specific words that you think you heard. We were told he'd be reevaluated in 3 weeks. Then they said he's progressing well and they check again in 2 weeks, which is now. Most are expecting to hear a more formal update today than we got yesterday. They never said he'd be back in 3 weeks and then he'd be back in 2 weeks.

They never told us it was a grade 2 hamstring pull, but the way he is tracking suggests it is exactly that and he is progressing on time for that level of injury.

I will concede this point - I think that is likely what was reported.

I think Jen Hale misrepresented this one....as she without question said he was on schedule to return in two weeks.
