I love that. It's the last straw for Zion. Put up or shut up. No more excuses. It's what we all want and tired of waiting
I'm 2 years past that. I know exactly what to expect from him.

This is actually the first year where we should be really good even with certain players out, which you couldn't say in previous years.
bullshite
Twice BI willed us into the playoffs after the team got super hurt. We have no BI on the current roster.

Take Zion away and show me your "really good" lineup. Jordan Poole absolutely cannot carry a team to a winning record. Poole is 42-161 without Steph Curry. That's a .207 winning percentage.

No Herb and no Dejounte meant no defense. Not to mention, Dyson was shipped out. No rim protection. Last years roster had no prayer with the injuries, all of the stats can basically be thrown in the trash.

Well yea...they were tanking last year.
Posted on 7/8/25 at 8:53 pm to supe12sta12z
I get that man but we had the 10th lowest point differential since the 09-10 season
There were A LOT of god awful tanking teams throughout the last 15 years and we were among the worst

And it’s exactly why it was so stupid to trade our unprotected draft pick.

Holy shite dude, you're delusional and in for a rude awakening this year. This is arguably the worst roster we've had in the Zion era.
You think we're better than GSW? On the same level as MIN and DEN? I knew you were sunshine pumping when you kept defending the trades Dumar made, but this is just blind homerism.

We have more/better talent than the Warriors and a much better future. You can bet on them if you want. But their top 3 players are 35, 35, and 37. There is a huge wall coming for them very soon. Outside of those 3 guys, they don't really have any great pieces or youth. Maybe Kuminga but they are trying to trade him. We'll have a better record than them this year..

It's been right in front of your eyes the whole time.

Steph Curry trumps this argument. We have more depth than Golden State, but they have players who have lead teams to championships. Meanwhile, we committed $60M to one of their cast-offs.

They’re also 170 million in the taxes and their best players are past their prime and over the hill. They’re all on their last leg and they’re trying to trade their best and youngest asset who walks for nothing next year. I don’t have this high expectation this year but healthy, this Pels team is better than the warriors team and has a brighter future. As much smack as everyone is talking about the Pels the warriors have been one of the dumber organizations the last few years. They should have traded DG and Steph at this point. They couldn’t be further from a championship and they’re paying that much money in taxes. Insane

Curry is an amazing player and one of the greatest all time. But 37 is old. He's already defying all conventional wisdom by being this good at his advanced age. It's not going to last. He's going to decline soon or have a major injury that ends it quickly. That's a statistical certainty.

They have two guys. Go look at their roster. It's bleak. They have 3 great players, that would start for any team in the league. Then a bunch of role players, specialists, and journey men. They are weaker now than anytime in the past decade.
Going back to the OP. It's best outlook over the next 5 years. That was the podcast topic. We have Murphy, Jones, Missi, Fears, and Queen, plus almost all of our draft capital. That's not even counting what we can flip Zion, Murray and possibly Poole next offseason (as an expiring). We have a tremendous base. The Warriors have Moody, Podz and maybe Kuminga to build around after this year. They are going to be full rebuild with barely any assets. I'd take our future over theirs anytime..

2 of these guys are arguably negative assets at this point, and Zion is on the brink.

I will say that I think that Dumars isn't done for this offseason. The much-rumored move is for Brogdon (likely sending out Jose and Hawkins), but we'll see.
