---the powers that be with the Pels...have decided to move Herb at the midseason deadline in February. Guess they could trade him even sooner but it makes sense to wait until the deadline.
---Probably best for all parties concerned...Pels can get more floor time for the younger guys and Herb can hopefully land with a serious contender...who might be desperate for a player like Herb...and MIGHT be willing to overpay to secure him. Sounds like it could be a "win/win" to me.

It will he a shame to see you go..
What kind of player is that?
He's a big bodied wing defender that hounded small guards. But he hasn't bulked up any to guard larger wings and he's losing foot speed as he gets older, and the injuries pile up. He's not a negative and has great utility. I just think he's matchup dependant, and has a short shelf life remaining. I'd love to get off his contract and think he's not that hard to replace..

Our front office is very committed to exploring all avenues for Herb. That means if trading for a second round pick, or trading him for nothing at all then we will make this move. It is best for the team to move forward. Herb is useless here. Can’t afford to pay him anymore.

Herb would fit nicely on the right team. Kind of like how Jaden McDaniels fits next to Ant and now Lamelo.
It's not Herb's fault that this is weirdest designed team in the NBA. Talent everywhere, but limited success.

I remember when he was all the rage around here. We loved the guy. I guess time waits for no one…

He's not as good as he once was and he's (rightly) been moved to a bench role. I love Herb, but it's overdue.

Going to really miss his 6 points per game

I’d like to have seen Herb in during the close out minutes.
I have no problem with dealing Herb for the right price, but there is no reason to get rid of your best defender on the cheap. Just keep him and bring him off the bench

Herb had one outlier season where he was a legit 3 and D guy, but he is not that guy. He's a total liability on offense. I don't see him having any real trade value. Be lucky to get back a couple of seconds or just have someone willing to take on his salary. Pels missed their window to potentially get back a protected first for him.

I'm just not sure the current "Herb" is worth $67.5M for the next 3 years (after this season)...MAYBE...for some other team...but definitely NOT...for a team like the Pelicans. Course'...I could be wrong.

Feels like I've heard that before
TM3 is another one we're going to end up getting way lesser value back than before.

His offensive game is in shambles.
