And imo AD’s attitude changes when they start putting the Pels on TNT once a week to see AD & Zion. And it changes when you start winning. It’ll be hard to convince me we miss the playoffs with AD, Jrue, and rookie Zion.

I hate trading superstars, as you never get anywhere near their value. I hope we get the compromise, he opts in, we see how well he, Zion, Jrue and others play together and we get him on a Supermax.

The OP is incomplete.

I need to know if AD is willing to sign full extension or opt in or nothing

AD plus full extension >>> AD plus opt in > Trade AD for haul >> keep AD with no added years,.no promises

Ideally, you keep AD if he's all in. This won't work with him even being 99% in....he needs to be all in.

If he's out, then you go for, imo, the Knicks package to get a super young core, knowing that Zion/RJ are at the center of that. Jrue is gonna be Jrue no matter the circumstances. One thought I haven't seen floated out but intrigues me is if you have money to pay AD supermax but he doesn't buy in...do you pick up Klay Thompson, who wants SM money or save and truly rebuild from the bottom up? I'm no cap expert so this could all be a pipe dream, but rolling out this lineup is pretty nasty defensively and spreads the floor well.

Jrue
Klay
RJ
Randle
Zion

If we signed him long term then we’d win a championship within 3-4 years. If we trade him away it might take 6-7 years.

That being said, no way he stays. He’s burned too many bridges

Klay has made it known that if the Warriors don’t sign him to a max deal that he expects one from either LA team.

NOLA wouldn’t enter into the conversation for him.

Pretty much the same stance most top players will take.

Who are we kidding ourselves? Keep AD, and sign him long term. When Zion develops, the Pels are a championship contender with the two of them together.

And that "cancer" led to the greatest possible outcome - they finally got the foundation right. Oh, and got Zion!!

Try to visualize AD, Zion and Jrue being menaces on defense, because that’s what it will be. If AD is in you’d have to be a very irrational person to not want him. I think Zion will be a top 30-40 player even as a rookie, possibly top 25. Jrue is top 25. AD is top 10, None of those players that might be coming here are close to that. Get a low usage role player for guard and the wing and they will wreck shite. Zions effort will be spectacular and the Blender is going to be rockin.

I don't think that's true. You saw it at the games with fans starting out booing and then changing to cheering when he made a play. He can easily swallow his pride and throw out a one time carefully phrased apology that says he's sorry fans were hurt and smooth things over.

I think the biggest obstacle is can AD handle not only this not being his team, but him possibly being just the 3rd favorite player behind Zion and Jrue. That's a lot of pride to swallow.

After seeing the realistic trade options for him, I’d much rather keep him.

He’s interested in being Lebron’s beta cuck for 4-5 years. He’s with LeKlutch Sports.

If he stays I would require that he disassociates with LeKlutch Sports and sign the supermax and be commited to the Pelicans for the length of the supertax contract.

I really don’t like the dude, but you know you have an mvp caliber production player to pair with zion and jrue. Trading him for assets or a couple of lesser players or picks would automatically set you back years from a championship.

Griffin and Klutch have a good relationship. As much as we hate them, that wouldn't be necessary.

Obviously keep. He’s a top 3-8 player in the NBA. Never gonna get good value for him. Jrue AD and Zion is the building block of a championship team.

If you had to trade him, I’d only trade him to Boston and the conversation would start with

Rosier
Brown
Tatum
Hayward
Horford
