What would you rather? Keep AD or Trade AD?

What would you rather?

I'm leaning towards trading AD and completely rebuilding with a lot of young talent.

I think what he did last year broke his relationship with anyone on the current roster and the coaching staff. If you bring him back it will only be temporary.

Trade. I'd like a fresh start with new players and management. Kinda hard to look at a player the same and not question his effort when he already said he didnt want to be here.

If you can sign AD to his super max, that is what you do

AD is a top 10 talent that is a perfect big in today’s NBA. You don’t move on from him just because you got your feelings hurt.

You don’t get 50 cents on the dollar in a trade. 10 dimes not even 4 quarters equal a dollar. You’ll never recover the value of AD

Everyone should want to do everything they can to pair Zion & AD together. Talk about the greatest pairing since Robinson & Duncan

I 100% agree.

Would you trade him for a early pick in the draft? (Knicks/Lakers)

Or would you trade him for assets? (Boston)

AD is an amazing talent and you are getting a diminished return on a trade. But, what and how he pulled last season makes me want to trade him. He made a lot of bad choices in this whole fiasco and i question keeping a player of his talent on NOP as its a matter of time before he pulls something again.

I don't think its about getting our feelings hurt. I think its more about AD truly wanting to be in New Orleans and giving the franchise everything he has.

I don't think AD agrees to sign a super max here.

I wouldn’t move on because of hurt feelings. I would move on if there was a lack of commitment to the future.

We are at a point where we can reshape the team completely. Any decision made really needs to take into account whether AD is staying or going, as it changes the value of pieces involved.

Keep and it’s not close. If he commits you absolutely go that route.

If AD will sign the Supermax you have to do that I guess, even though I'm not thrilled with it.

He's a great talent and will have a long term contract that you can move later if you need to.

If its an opt in or only 1 year, frick him, ship him out.

Depends on what chips are on the table.

But if it was that simple and I had to pick one or the other right now, yea you keep AD. You have a chance to have a Duncan/Robinson type of situation. I am not comparing players, just the opportunity that presented itself to San Antonio that started their dynasty.

Top ten players in the league are hard to find. Having a legit shot at two of them? You tuck in your feelings and welcome AD back with open arms.

The question was would you rather keep or trade AD. I say keep.

Now it seems like AD wants out, but he seems like an easily influenced guy. And I think Griffin can make a compelling case for staying.

I get that you want AD to commit long term. But convincing him to opt in just to try to play with Zion is something you have to try

I just don’t think y’all realize the opportunity we have here. Not only getting the best prospect since LeBron but pairing him with a top 10 NBA player who also happens to fit with him almost perfectly. You HAVE to convince AD to stay and at least try that out. The risk is high but the reward is astronomical

If I had trust in AD, I would accept him opting in for a season while we tried this.

But he tried to frick us last season and he has the decision making skills of a retarded child.

I feel that buying a season of him is going to end up costing us a bunch of other assets and we will miss our window on trading him for good value when he inevitably decides he wants out.

Trade specifically the Boston trade. I feel Tatum has made it clear he didn’t like the Kyrie situation and has implied that he likes the idea of being a main piece in the NO rebuild.

I feel Tatum is really motivated to prove something.

AD tried to screw us over because Demps failed to maximize AD’s talent, Demps failed in his vision, and Demps wasn’t enough of a leader for AD to trust in. I don’t blame AD for asking out of New Orleans one bit. The FO needed a wake up call.

I think AD is a good guy that is super young, that is easily influenced, and sees his peers succeed where he is failing. Griffin comes in and sells him a vision, badgers him about how different things will be, tells him we are a family, etc, etc. You might be able to change AD ‘s mind.

Maybe it doesn’t work & you miss on trading him for more assets, but again, if it does work, AD - Zion will be a force the NBA hasn’t seen

I’d love him to stay and commit to the team. I don’t think he will because he’s a huge vagina that wants to be on a super team. He’s not an Alpha and it’s shown through his inability to get it done. Blame management all you want but this team has had enough talent to make a few decent runs in the playoffs.

We can go back and forth on this....as someone said the Pelicans are at a fork in the road right now and everyone agrees keeping a happy AD is the ideal choice.

Therein lies the problem....is AD going to agree to try it and is he going to be happy....?? Thats smthg Griffin will have to get a feel on and go from there.
If he thinks AD agrees to give it one year mainly bc he thinks the odds of him getting to LA go up, then get what you can for him now...
If AD is giving Griffin really good feedback and seems excited about Zion... then maybe the whole problem was Demps and we can get him on board for long haul.

This whole thing rides on Griffin reading AD and his camp properly the next few months
