Bright side: neither is anyone else

So, we’re all tied for first place, and last

Where did you hear this?

Do we know what they're doing besides suspending for now?

I didn’t hear anything from Boom, it’s painfully obvious. If you push the season back they’d lose far more money than they would canceling the rest of the regular season games, and then they’d be playing seasons back to back

So we are a lottery team and AD doesn't get a ring...I see this as an absolute win.

Why would you think that there will be playoffs?

If the season resumes they have to find a way to play out the remaining games.

Impossible. How are you going to coordinate 20 games for each team, arenas, days off, tickets, arena employees? Did you account for previously planned concerts and other arena events? It's hard enough for them to make an 82 game schedule.

If they do the playoffs, they'll probably use the current standings, play the playoffs, and then we move on to next season and case closed.

We've had lockout shortened seasons, and the league has survived.

my bet is there is no playoffs.
there wont be a tested-released-to-general-use vaccine for a year or so.

the only way i can see having playoffs is if you sequester the teams in a controlled location, test them all, control their food preparation and do it all on tv only.

i actually see a different alternative playing out. as we know, the NBA has become more and more experimental recently and the delay in the season actually gives the NBA a unique opportunity to experiment with the rest of this season. a lot has been talked about how the NBA should start in Dec. and end in Aug., missing out on as much football as possible. well, say the NBA suspends for a month, the league then gets the chance, if they choose to utilize this one option, to see how a mid June playoff start looks and then a late July Finals looks, thereby capitalizing on a free experimentation period that will be incredibly easy for the league audience/public to accept (due to the fact that many companies should be looking to recoup as much of the massive losses in revenue they are about to take over next month's season suspension). it's a total win-win to push the season back and pick up the schedule where they left off... if this virus phases out within a reasonable timetable and we don't all die

Sounds to me like they’ll start back up but on a shortened schedule before the playoffs. So likely not enough time for the Pels to jump into the 8 spot.

So it’s like Schrödinger’s playoffs?

That bodes well for us...and doesn’t...

plus memphis would get back a starter jaren jr, avg 16.8, first big off bench clarke, and winslow may be healed up and they get jontay porter until his acl goes again, another talented big.
