In NOLA Hornicans History I think this one panned out as good as any.

What other ones am I missing?

(Title edited as I was incorrect he wasn’t an DA Signing)

He was a trade with Chicago, as we sent out JR Smith in the process.

Chandler was actually acquired in a trade. Peja was a nice FA signing (turned into a S&T).

we didn't sign Tyson as a FA, we traded for him.

We signed Peja as a FA.
We signed Posey as a FA.
We signed Juluis Randle as a FA.
Hill and Moore were signed in the worst offseason the league ever had.
There aren't too many other notable Free Agents we've signed in the last 20 years.

I still hear Tim Legler on ESPN calling us his Finals favorites after this signing... it still haunts me to this day.

I think Randle was solid as hell for us. Imagine a world where we got the #2 pick, kept Randle and drafted Morant.

But man, I miss that 2007-2008 team
Remember how fricking hyped we were when we got Posey. The national media was hyping him up as our missing piece.

ESPN - Posey brings recipe for success to Hornets

SI Writers predictions for 2008-2009
4 of them had us in the WCF with one having us winning the NBA Finals.

quote:

McCallum: Hornets over Celtics. The Celtics can tell you all about making a quantum leap in one year. But remember that the Hornets' leap would not be so quantum -- they won 56 games last season and took the defending champion Spurs to seven games in the Western semifinals. In the Finals, Chris Paul will play like the MVP candidate he'll be, Tyson Chandler's defense will (almost) neutralize Kevin Garnett, David West will (almost) neutralize Paul Pierce and two-time champion James Posey will supply the winning edge. And remember that coach Byron Scott has been to the Finals as both player and coach.

Good times. Instead we would go on to have one of the most embarrassing first rounds of any team losing by 29, 15, 58, and 21 to the Nuggets in 5 games (with a 2 pt home win in game 3)

I was looking at the 2008 draft and the 3 picks before our pick were Serge Ibaka, Nic Batum, and George Hill who all 3 would have been so nice to have that season. Hell, the guy we drafted Arthur would have been nice if George Shinn wasn't such a cheap frick who kept selling our picks for cash
