Would you really want a new coach if this team makes the playoffs?

I'd like to see Monty coach another playoff series. last time we were in it, he did a good job against the lakers. honestly that team had no business taking that series to 6 games.

Tyreke has looked much better this month.

Also Jrue and Tyreke each take a turn at 30 points and 10 assists in back to back games. I like the idea of those guys trading off.

Typical La. sports fans.

Best season ever would be winning a title and then firing the coach the next day

Charlie Mac
Saban
Miles
Dale
Payton

Yes. He's not a good coach.

I want an upgrade. I don't think Monty is the worst coach in the league like many do, but look at Marc Jackson to Steve Kerr. Are you saying you wouldn't want to make a move like that that would unleash this roster? Monty can do that himself if he'd bring in some new assistants. I like Hanners and Ayers but I feel this coaching staff needs a boy genius type which they haven't even tried to get since Malone left to make Marc Jackson look good.

but who would that be? Everyone says GK but you don't even know if he wants to come back to coaching. at best he can give you 5 years? I'm just not sure who we can get and i think making a change just to make a change could really hurt the relationship between AD and the front office.

I don't have a good answer for that. I do like JVG, although him saying this isn't a playoff team makes me think he doesn't like the roster as opposed to Karl who seems ready to jump in.

Yea, I'd rather them add an offensive minded assisted like you alluded to earlier. Monty certainly has his weaknesses but the players seem to like him a lot. even Reke last night was giggling like a little kid after MW whispered something to him after the game. I'd have a hard time seeing Reke and GK getting along that way.

5 years is an eternity in the NBA
I'd gladly trade up for that, right now

Exactly what I said. More people overreact over Tyreke Evans than anyone else on the team other than Eric Gordon. He may have a large contract, but he's still played pretty well for us for the most part.

Reke creates mismatches and puts serious pressure on opposing defenses. If coached correctly, he's a big asset.

I've called him a battering ram in the past, he's a siege engine that you use in specific situation just like your flame thrower. Shameless Pel brought up how different he looked with AD out because the spacing is different with Ryno. We've known since last year that he plays well with Ryno, and this year the 2nd best 2 man unit is Tyreke and Ryno (+8.7 pts). You can still start and finish Tyreke while getting him plenty of 2nd unit minutes with Ryno.

And this is why people have rightly lost patience with Monty and want him gone even if we make the playoffs quail man. There are some very obvious adjustments that not only can be made but should be made and he isn't making them for whatever reason. If an upgrade to the assistant coaching staff was going to happen they'd have done it by now.

Tyreke looked good for the same reason Asik's dunks looked good, no legit rim protector to increase the difficulty of the shots he would take
I've been playing daily fantasy sports on the NBA a lot lately, and it really helps you notice and pick up on things you otherwise wouldn't, especially since I'm not getting to watch every Pels game.

But this is so spot on. I've been hammering Evans on my roster any time I don't feel like the other team has a legit rim protector as the difference from game to game is pretty noticeable.

Issue is, big teams in the west we need to win against at least once a year against them have legit rim protectors to have a shot at the 8th seed.

Most of those teams with rim protectors, we fail to win way too often and its typically Tyreke not passing it out to the open man to take a better shot than his miracle layups.

Just look at his game logs, I think against a legit big, he's only shot well about 4 times. There's too many of these sub 40% shooting games and they mostly result in losses
