If Ingram for Scoot and whatever was on the table, I hope by the end of this year we dont regret that.

With this training staff and their constant shenanigans I’d be pleasantly surprised if he’s back before 2024.

Call me a NegaPel if you must

His drama made me come across like I was downplaying it haha

Personally i need Zion and Ingram to just be fricking dudes that come in and get me 50 plus combined every night.

Yeah i would have done that in a heartbeat.

If this year is another dud im down for a rebuild. Trade Bi and Zion, get picks and promising players. You already have a decent young core with trey herb dyson and hawkins. Do a full out tank job to land Cooper Flagg in 25

Likely will never know if it was on the table or if Blazers would have accepted if so. Just message board and media speculation.

I have been as outspoken as anyone on this board over the mishandling of injuries by this training staff. They have been absurdly cautious and the results have been dismal. However, the training staff has supposedly been restructured going into this year. A partial meniscectomy is literally the easiest lower body surgery to recover from. As I stated earlier, high school athletes return from this procedure in less than six weeks.

This is the first real test for the new training staff, it’s a relatively simple procedure to recover from, and it’s not Zion or BI. Let’s hope the narrative begins to change.

I still don’t understand the 10-12 week timeline. People aren’t stupid. We all know that is a very conservative estimate following a partial meniscectomy. They won’t get the good PR they are hoping for if it takes 12 weeks.

Did we ever get any real news on the training staff? Nelson is gone right?

I haven't seen anything new as in a replacement, and I also haven't seen that Nelson is gone. The impression I always got the way things were worded was that the department was reorganized in a way to hope that he'd quit. But if he quits he'd lose his paycheck and I haven't heard he moved on yet, so maybe he's sticking around just to collect a paycheck by sitting in an office down the hall all day.

The fact that Zion has been working out some at the facility is probably the only thing that really matters.

I don't like small guards...but I'd go along with Ingram for Scoot in a heartbeat...

EDIT: Sorry duck...didn't see your post

Not young... just recency biased

It's easy to just point back to last season and say look at the issues Zion & BI had... but yes I'm aware there's a deeper history than that... just around Zion though I'm sure you can go even deeper than that

Honestly this is good news to me. Even if he ends up missing the full 12 weeks you’ve only lost him for the first 6 weeks of the season. There’s still 6 1/2 weeks until the season starts so he should be half way back before we play our first game. It could have been worse. Naji will step up, he always does when we need him to. Trey will come back good as new, I’ve had the surgery he’s having.

scoot is amazing.

like zion and morant scoot is so gifted he did not need to learn much about shooting.

hes way worse than rookie morant. much like zion.
at the rim.

morant has improved one or two things every season.

id need to know more about scoots take on his game and any plans.

ingram is good enough to be guy3 or guy4 on a nba champ.

i only saw scoot vs rookies and guys who are hoping for work.
flying to the rim.
no standard form jumper.
iverson level speed.

They won’t get the good PR they are hoping for if it takes 12 weeks.

a couple posters had something along the lines of..
who cares if its 11, 12 or 13. hes not going to try a match race of 400m hurdles vs Femke Bol first day back.
how could he heal and practice basketball besides ft?
maybe he can swim to keep up cardio vascular.

edit. maybe the 12 weeks includes a month of jump shot practice, with 3 v 3 and then 5 v 5.

I’ll be shocked if he plays before January. Because Pelicans.
