One guy who shot pretty bad career wise from 3 last season who’s dealt with several injuries the past two seasons. Yeah problem solved smh

The dream is that Zion is healthy and like a black hole pulling in nearby defenders and leaving guys wide open for shots. Most will shoot a little better uncontested.

I honestly think thats the best bet. You hope Herb and Jose hit the three at a higher percentage early when Trey is out. They’ll go back to the norm but Trey will be back by then.

Dude stop. He shot 38.9% on 7 plus attempts. That is still really good considering his injury that he played through and not having the best player on your team making things easier.
We have some 3 point shooting, unfortunately with trey out it went from ok to not enough.

We have some 3 pt shooting? You mean exactly one guy- CJ? Or a rookie who couldn’t hit anything in summer league- Hawkins? We have literally only CJ if Trey is out. We didn’t have enough with Trey. CJ honestly is more of a scorer than a role playing shooter like Trey was but yeah i hope CJ can hit near 45 percent the whole month before Trey gets back.

No idea what this means. Are you saying he shot abnormally bad from three last season relative to his entire career?

It must be more significant than they are leading on bc 10-12 weeks is a long projection for a slight tear in the meniscus. Generally those are in the 4-8 week range.
It isn't. Add the normal timeline for any average injury and add several more weeks for any Pelican player just because.

The team is actually being transparent about the type of procedure he had, when he had it, and who performed it. This establishes a reliable timeline. 10-12 weeks is on the conservative side with a meniscectomy and there is no way he shouldn’t be back by December 1st. If he isn’t, it is a severe indictment on their rehab team.

My opinion as well. They know how skeptical the fanbase is and want to have him come back "early" to start changing the narrative of a front office that lies about injuries to sell tickets.

10-12 weeks seems like a long recovery for a partial meniscectomy.

Jose neither but u saw what happened with him

A lot of this is on the front office. You can’t be that reliant on one guy shooting the ball that if he gets hurt we literally have no 3 pt shooting. In a game dependent on making the 3 pt shot we literally dont have any shooters. In fact we have 2 guys in our rotation as role players who are horrendous shooting the 3(Jones and Dyson). Others who barely try shooting it (Zion and JV) and then the avg 3 pt shooters (BI and Jose).
100% Agreed! CJ and Trey shouldn’t be the only real shooters and shooting a lot of 3’s ain’t BI and JV’s game.

Dude. Ingram shot 39% from 3. There's young players that are allowed to get better from 3 in Herb and Alvarado.
Guys are going to have to step up. All this "literally only" talk is over dramatic.

I think downplaying this is kinda crazy.
The biggest thing this team lacks might be shooting, and we are losing by far our best shooter for the beginning of the season.
Its a loss for sure.

JJ had Chris Finch on his podcast and he talked about the Davis/Boogie team and they built an efficient offense without shooting because they were able to attack the rim and get to the line at a high rate. So there are ways around it. Like I said in another thread, Borrego is probably the 2nd biggest X factor behind health for the team.

willie is in trouble.
pels start off without a rotation guy.
no one knows what to expect from zion. in my dream for him, this off season he became a knockdown set shot artist, a little better than Lopez.
ingram was been moved to 2nd string on team usa, ostensibly to play with Halliburton and now hes sick and got out of high pressure of high stakes medal games. imo he cracked. yes anyone can get sick in Manila. did he drink? up late? mingle with the adoring crowd? if he doesnt have the inner strength to make USA team priority for a couple weeks he might not even be the "2nd best player on a finals team".
im disappointed at the situation.
we all wanted an agile paint defender.
nope.
we all wanted a knock down shooter. maybe the rookie. its now needed day1. can he defend? is josê 100%?
as i recall the o/u is 44.5.
on the cusp of 6th and 7th.
44.5 with trey out already, José on the mend, zion overdue question mark - 44.5 looks optimistic.
at least ingram played well his last two fiba games.

This would be when you finally realize the rehab team isn't that great? Come on
