Indy had been trying to dump Turner about as long. And now they just extended him.

I mean, it does have somewhat of that appearance.

But there's also value in not having a totally shitty contract hanging around.

isn't that smart? Because being in the tax with this same team seems pointless.

Yeah its whatever.

The got a more playable guy and dumped salary.

This team was never going to acquire a superstar.

It all comes down to Zion and BI's health, that's it.

Exactly this. Our big move is getting back Zion. If that happens, Pels lineup is solid. If it doesn't no trade is going to make them contenders. Can wait for offseason to evaluate and maybe make a move with the warchest.

Yeah, we can just have a potentially shitty contract in Jax around as part of a sign and trade instead.

Whatever. I'm glad to get out of Graham's contract, and Richardson is a much more playable guy than DG in that he can actually guard someone.

Even if we let Richardson expire and don't re-sign him next offseason, it would make zero sense to have Graham on the roster making 10+ mil next season while sitting on the bench behind our better guards.

I just refuse to believe Gayle isn’t willing to go into the lux given how the Pels are her baby, not Tom’s.

going into the tax for devonte graham is stupid. There wasn't a trade they liked at the deadline so they got off his money. If there was a deal for OG that was reasonable i bet we wouldve pulled the trigger and been in the tax next year

This likely means warriors are out on OG

In general, it seems like an obvious statement here.

But now we really don't have any salary filler for an offseason deal, we'd have to trade guys we like and value if we're going to add a good player.

Who was it, Darius Miller that we gave the head scratching $7mil to but did so solely for salary filler? Did we ever even trade him?

Exactly. There’s no reason to melt about the DG move. Absolutely zero. Be upset about the lack of other moves, sure, but how can you be upset about a bad player on a bad contract going out with 2nds for an expiring player who’s actually playable?

Yes, it's smart...if you don't plan to go into the tax.

But the issue is the plan to not go in the tax. That would be a huge bummer and goes against what Griff told us Gayle was willing to do.

We could also just sign JR to a 1 year deal making the 12m devonte would've just to use as salary filler and it would be more valuable than devonte
