They're solid role players but compare them to what we got from LAL for AD

And we got the draft capital

A panic trade would be doing something dumb like trading everything for Jimmy Butler. Bridges is 26, Claxton is 23. Both are under contract for more than this year, and neither one of the 2 changes your timeline as they are both young and able to stay for the next 6-10 years

So who would we send out? Jonas? If we get Claxton then I don’t see why we need Jonas. I don’t see us moving Larry.

I’m still salty about the lakers trade. Imagine having Beasley and Vanderbilt over Hayes and Graham. All it took was one fricking 1st round protected pick that can change into 2nd round picks.

Yeah if we ignored that option for fricking OG I'm going to melt

Jonas and Graham matches salary for Bridges and Claxton. You could even add Dyson or Herb if they want a young player back.

Im melting because were the Jazz now (the playoff version).

Good enough to maybe win a first round series but then you run into talent issues where it matters the most.

At least for the time being I can finally just relax about watching games.

I think they are probably more interested in picks given the trade rape they got from Houston.

I’m willing to give up the 24/25 Laker pick at this point if it sets us up going forward roster-wise and clears up our tax situation.

nets will build around bridges and claxton they aren’t trading those guys. You can get crowder for free but no thanks

and the guys here crying about the jazz trade need to realize that the lakers had the one thing we did not...a massive expiring salary

all 30 teams are looking for the best deal for them.

100%

Pels took the Suns to the wire last year. Now they have added Durant, but lost their best defender and a lot of the bench.

Meanwhile the Pels have added Zion and Dyson to last season’s roster. It’s far from certain that Suns are better and they are for sure a lot older.

I would do a Bridges/Claxton trade in a heartbeat. I wouldn't even think twice. Bridges is Herb/Dyson except he shoots 40% from 3 and averages 17 a game and is 26 years old. Claxton fills the rim protector that we need and allows us to play fast at all times. He is 23. This is why you accumulate the war chest. Bridges is such a good fit.

I would much prefer some sort of three way getting Claxton and OG, rather than Claxton and Bridges.

I think that Claxton is potentially an attainable big that fits our need at the 5, that’s who I would be targeting.

Well, we kind of have to make a move now, if we want a chance to compete against Phoenix.
This should probably make us less likely to make a move today imo.

Neither of them are guys you build around though. Good enough to make the difference on good teams in a playoff series, not good enough to turn a Ben Simmons centered team into anything great.

And I would think since one of the only times they will have their own pick in the coming years is this season, they would be wise to try and maximize that.

So if we really want those two it will cost us a bunch of picks and likely two of Dyson/Herb/Trey. But i would be shocked if they are untouchable.

Bridges and OG’s per 36 are almost identical, even in the fringe stats, it’s almost weird.

I don’t think it can do anything but help the Pels if they want to make a move that there are potentially two elite 3&D wings available now instead of all the focus being on OG.

Still curious what the market is now for guys like Olynyk, Bamba, Josh Richardson, Gary Harris, Alec Burks, Kennard, etc since the market has had so much movement. Could be some great value around if the Pels cast a wide net.

This would be a nice backup plan. Olynyk + some shooters for some 2nd's and guys wasting away on the bench.
