but The knicks are getting DG (who they seem to actually want)

Have you actually seen that somewhere, or is it just you and me trying to speak it into existence?

And another injury prone player.
Pels love those.

What’s thoughts on this?

Knicks: Devonte Graham
Pacers: Fournier, Knicks 1st
Jazz: Jaxson Hayes, 1st and 2nds from Pels
Pels: Beasley, Vanderbilt

Knowing Ainge he'll want like 3 1sts

That's the hard part about predicting a trade with Ainge (or really anyone)...it's just so hard to know what teams will take to get a deal done.

I don't hate the trade proposed...gets the Pels a shooter and active defending/rebounding PF (although mostly a non-shooter). But it's worth noting that Beasley has been in a big slump, shooting under 30% from deep after starting really hot this year.

Fournier is an interesting player...he hasn't played up to his contract, but he is a guy that could flourish in a different setting (or could just be washed).

In most of the trades I like for the Pels it's bringing in guys that are skilled and play hard, but are limited in upside because they aren't necessarily superstar athletes. You need those guys to surround your superstars, but they don't destroy your cap with a max/near-max contract demand.

Yeah i wouldn't give up more than proposed, i think 2nds for Beasley and a 1st for Vanderbilt is fair compensation.

That would be two 1sts at a minimum, but then the question is, are you moving Nance or Val?

You can't have all 3 of Val/Nance/Vanderbilt, especially in a playoff rotation. 1 would be racking up DNPs, and all 3 are too good to be getting DNPs, so if you're getting Vanderbilt, if you want best value out of your bigs, you basically have to move 1 of Nance or Val or it's a bit of a waste.

I wouldn’t worry about this until the off-season.

Vanderbilt has the athleticism to play the 3 spot, we could realistically have him, Zion and Nance all on the floor at the same time, especially for those playoff matchups where Val is outmatched with quicker 5’s.

I don't think you can justify that deal at all unless you think you are going to play Vando at the 4. Utah plays him almost exclusively at the 5, so that's a risky assumption, but he has begun to shoot a bit this year and hasn't been terribly ineffective. Nonetheless, I think you identified the issue the Pels have at the 5. Val, Nance, and Willy have 3 of the best value per production contracts in the league, so it's hard to upgrade there without creating waste.

Really the Pels only have a couple of guys, DG and Temple, that aren't overplaying their contracts when on the floor. Jax is probably about right (under $7mm there a bunch of guys that have shown promise but aren't consistent), Kira we don't know, and then we have the 2 big contract guys that have missed a ton of time, which is obviously the the main problem the Pels are having.

DG and Temple get you almost to $17mm, but I don't see many guys in that range that seem to fit the Pels roster.

Even if you get one of the Toronto guys they are pretty redundant. OG replacing Herb is possible, but will cost a ton and wastes Herb's contract unless he is moved in the trade and reduces the cost substantially.

Duncan Robinson?

His contract (5/90) is awful but is there anyway we could offset its impact?

Robinson may be a candidate for a change of scenery w/ hopes of reigniting his stroke as Miami seems to be looking to part ways.

I'd also like to know what it would take for a Jae Crowder addition for the remainder of this year. I like his playoff presence for our somewhat inexperienced team heading into the postseason.

Only way I would take him at this point is if they take Graham and add Jovic.

Its insane how he went from elite shooter to DNP
