Several possibilities here-

1. Doesn’t want to go to Sacramento

2. Already has a promise from someone

3. Wants to protect his health so that he doesn’t get injured in a meaningless workout.

hopefully that means kings won’t take him at 4.

Kings gotta take someone at 4 or trade back.

At this point, I swear every agent in the league is steering players away from there.

Honestly, just feels good for that not to be us for once.

I know it's McNamara but he insinuated that it wasn't a promise that caused Sharpe to cancel.

He couldn't elaborate for "reasons" but TIFWIW

Aka the rumors of why aren’t out there yet that he can regurgitate and package as insider info, so he has to go even more vague than usual.

Only “reasons” at this point other than a promise are “Too scare of getting hurt before draft” or “people aren’t liking what they are seeing in these workouts so his team is trying to stop the bleeding.”

If he thinks it means Sharpe is dodging us, I think he is just making shite up again.

The more logical reason would be that he knows he won't have a big role with us next season, but he could with other teams like OKC, Detroit, etc..

It sounds like his handlers are trying to push him into a situation that would equal more playing time for him. That's what makes sense anyway.

Possibly.

Problem is that he also risks going to a team which has no damn clue how to develop young talent, like Sacramento, and he’s fricked.

On Simmons latest podcast, he was advocating for the Pelicans to trade up with Sac and take Ivey.

Said it had "been out there a little bit."

My only issue is that I don't think picks will be enough. They'll want a young non-Jaxson player.

They'd probably want trey

Would any of you do that?

No, I just like Treys potential versatility too much as he gets stronger. And he’s a good fit for this team. And obviously gives us the 3pt shooting we still desperately need.

I’m not that desperate to jump 4 spots to get Ivey so I’d do something like 8,Jax, future pick (top 4 protected) and then kind of go from there if that’s not enough but close. I’d imagine they’d get better offers

Doubt they’d want Kira.

The only better offer I can think of is the rumored wizards one.

But you also have to factor in that 8 is better than 10 in this particular draft. Two of:

1. One of the top 8 who falls
2. Davis
3. Sochan
4. Griffin

Will not be there if they get 10 instead of 8. I agree with your reasoning though and don't want to trade trey but that is what it'd probably cost(obviously herb is untouchable). This is the Kings though and they may accept an offer like yours.

Pass.

As of now, I see Trey as being a good part of the rotation provided he is healthy.

If we are giving him up, I want it to be for better than a 4 spot jump in the first.

I rather have Murphy and Daniels over Ivey. Murphy saved us a lot last season and you don’t trade a player like that.

I personally don't wanna move Trey. If this years 8, Jax, and a future 1st wont do it maybe add a Milwaukee 1st with it. Use some of that war chest if you like Ivey. Trading away Trey or Herb just isn't something I think they should do.

That’s tough. Trey for Ivey, as much as I would hate to lose Trey, I would probably do. Sacramento wouldn’t though.

Then where it gets tough is when you start talking about Trey + #8 for #4. Think of it as Daniels/Mathurin/Sochan + Trey for Ivey. I would probably pass there. But even that I still think Sacramento would say no too.

I want Ivey pretty bad and believe that he would be a great future pair with Zion. But I want to keep hold of Jones and Murphy too.

I can't think of anyone we have, that we would want to give up, that would help them win now. I don't think Murphy would be that guy either. They would probably want either McCollum or Val (since Zion and Ingram are virtual untouchables). I'm sure that is not going to happen. But wouldn't those be the guys they would be asking about?

Personally I dont see the Pels moving anyone besides Jax, Graham, Kira and/or Temple. I could see them letting go of some of the future firsts they have but it doesnt seem that the Kings are interested in future picks. Seems like a 3rd team would have to get involved for the Pels to be able to move up and land Ivey.

Would love Ivey, but agree that picks alone may not do it (unless a 3rd team involved to provide Kings with the veteran player they want).
