I don't know if that matters for us because unless he regresses, he's easily a max guy.
I have to think this whole big market thing for clutch has to be dying at this point. There aren't that many big markets

We aren’t going to make a major move like that this off-season.
I’ve been looking through salaries for every team and I’ve been struggling to find a margin move using Graham and Temple’s salaries.

Bunchie,
Who says no?
Pels get Mo Bamba (S&T)
Pistons get Hayes and Ross
Magic get Temple and picks
We could then sign Liddell to a NBA contract
Save Graham’s contract for the deadline

Who's giving up the picks? I know I'm not giving up picks for Mo Bamba.

I don't expect us to, but his salary isn't why we're not making that move.

Was thinking either 2027 bucks 1st or two future seconds from the Pels and two future seconds from the Pistons

Our roster is pretty much set for the long term. Ideally growth comes internally and we keep adding missing pieces through the draft. I expect CJ to be here for the next 3-4 years at least. Jonas is the main piece that can use an upgrade but we don't have the money for that so it will have to be a draft pick that handles the games/matchups Jonas can't.
If we hit a wall in the playoffs and feel we can't get over it without a 3rd All Star besides CJ, then you use up the rest of the war chest to trade for that guy. But I really don't think it's going to come to that if all the guys we have now keep developing.

I think getting a guy like Bamba who could be a defensive anchor (he’s got the capability) at a cost controlled price and someone that could take over for JV in a couple of years is a smart move. I’m with Bunchie in that maybe shooting isn’t what we need right now. We need interior defense. Bamba can provide that with some development.
You can still go get that big in the draft next year when Willy is a free agent and you’d have tradeable salary in Bamba if you determine he’s not the guy long term. I don’t think we’d giving up discernible assets in the move. Just creating more roster balance.

CJ should and likely will get 3 years added on to his contract this off-season which would carry him until he’s 35 at max money. That’s money well spent, by 35 he will still be an elite shooter, and that’s when the new TV money will be kicking in and his contract will be below market value.
So yes, we could technically get Murray and let CJ walk in 2 years, but that’s not the smart thing to do. CJ is our “leader” right now, everyone in that locker room respects him especially Zion. I’m not letting him walk for 5 years at a minimum.

I think we have this core, more or less, for 2 years. If we stall 2 years in a row, we'll make moves. The problem will be CJ will be extended by then which limits our ability to move him and we'll have to make big decisions on Herb.
I do agree if we make a move it will be for a 5, but Jonas is such a value in terms of personality, play, and cost.

That’s a mega no for me.
Honestly I’m going against the grain. I’m not interested in moving Hayes right now. I’d rather move him during the season if we need to.
I’m just focusing on moving Graham and Temple. No one else.

He's sub-40% from 3 and his FTs are legit terrible

I like Dejounte the player, but he’s really a weird guy with a pretty shitty attitude.
This might not be that well known, but there are a lot of signs regarding this, as anytime anything goes wrong, he pouts hard on social media. And I’ve seen him completely mentally check out of games in the mid of the 4th quarter as well.
I think he’d be a bad fit on our team shooting and character wise.

I wonder what type of compensation the Kings would want for Richaun Holmes.

This is a bad take
ETA: there are 4 active players who shoot with the same volume as CJ and have higher career 3 point percentage:
Steph Curry
Klay Thompson
Duncan Robinson
Buddy Hield

Career 39.6% from 3 on 6 attempts and 81% from the FT line..

Are you serious? This will likely end up being the only good/great asset from the Jrue trade. And you want to give it up for one year of Mo Bomba, a backup center, jeez.

We really misfired not trading Jrue for the rumored pick 6 and Huerter trade from the Hawks.
Could’ve gotten Hali with ease by doing that trade.
Then at 13 we would’ve probably picked Bey instead of Kira.
