Now, Ayton can't be traded for a year. I wonder how PHO could possibly trade for Durant now -- I don't see it happening, as it would be nuts.

Yeah, I don’t think they can really. They needed Ayton to either trade to Brooklyn or another team in order to route assets to Brooklyn.

They're not trading Booker so just Bridges, Cam Johnson, money filler, and picks. Not very attractive.

It would basically have to be Booker. And at that point I think you’re taking away too much talent to realistically tell yourself you are a championship team even if a healthy* KD would be an upgrade over Booker.

Suns still have the salary to pull it off, and could get extra assets to send to Brooklyn if teams like Miami are interested in paying for Crowder. It would take damn near the rest of their roster, but they could do it.

Not the whole story:

David Aldridge @davidaldridgedc 13m

Suns cannot trade Ayton to another team for a year without his permission – and can't trade him to Indy for the year under any circumstances.

Since he's a newly signed FA he can't be traded until December 15th. But at that time you could trade him to Utah or Brooklyn if he agrees to go.

Now that he’s signed BYC no longer matters; right? He just can’t be dealt til 1/15

“Agrees to go” and both teams still interested in trading for him are important.

Nets may run it back with no one willing to meet their price. If they start winning early in the season, they may not feel as big a push to shop Durant or Kyrie.

I think BYC applies to any trade this season. His contract becomes normal next offseason.

Looks like the Pacers didn’t put the screws to the Suns, no trade kicker, no player option, just 4 years straight guaranteed.

He has his moments and he’s pretty good at accepting his role at this point. 12th man that can occasionally get hot from 3 (sometimes even in playoff games) and he tries on defense.

This doesn’t deserve its own thread probably. And no one would even see it anyway, as everyone is still trading blows in the Jaxson Hayes thread lol.

I googled the New Orleans Pelicans trying to figure out what time the SL game is tonight and instead I stumbled upon a fan sided article (yeah I know garbage) suggesting the Pelicans trade Graham, Temple and 2 seconds for Eric Gordon.

From a basketball standpoint this trade probably makes at least a little sense, but I probably wouldn’t do this personally due to culture, locker room dynamics, etc.
Also, based on Swin Cash’s comments on Temple during the last SL game, I kind of doubt we would even trade him. I think he’s here to stay this season.

However, would Pels talk pull the trigger on this deal to bring back the Cornerstone?

Hahaha, no.

It would blow up our locker room on several fronts IMHO.

Gordon’s an a-hole who didn’t want to be on the team and made it clear. Trading for him when he is about washed up seems like a really bad idea.

That’s kind of where I’m at with it too. I do wonder if perhaps Gordon has matured in the past 5-7 years though and if he’d give it an honest shot considering we are basically an entirely different organization and he’s no longer expected to be a “cornerstone”.

Like shouldn’t he rather play here more at this point, than the Rockets, who aren’t as far along in their rebuild?

It makes a lot of sense, and if we all didnt' hate EG so much, we should without a doubt do it.
But frick that lemon head. I don't ever want to see him in a Pels uniform, even though i'm sure he has matured and would probably embrace coming here this time.

I told yall this many times. He's not getting traded unless its an absolute necessity. And yes he's overpaid for what he does. I'd trade Kira before GT, even though i know Kira provides more on the court than GT does. This culture we've got going on is way more important than the 11th or 12th or 13th guy on the roster.

I don’t see why he wouldn’t be happy to be traded back to Nola…
