I think he will be a much different player playing off of Zion. Should open up some non contested 3’s for him, and up his efficiency.

I agree, but that is true of anyone really.

The question that has to be asked if we are talking about a 2-4 year extension today at 25~ million is, will CJ be able to 1.) Return to his pre 2021 levels and average 45% and 37%+, and 2.) Will he be able to maintain that thru his mid 30's?

Cause he's not gonna be giving you much as a player if he can't give you that in the playoffs

Personally I'd like to get into the extension stuff next offseason after we can see for ourselves how he holds up over a full season and how he looks in the playoffs with Zion/Bi. But if they decide to extend sooner I wont melt, just be cautiously optimistic.

Grain of salt since its a Legion Hoops guy:

“The Pelicans really aren’t that interested in trading for Kevin Durant”

Never thought I’d hear that….

What also concerns me is how he looked in the playoffs. It very much looked like a continuation of the previous post season where CJ has been less effective scoring efficiently when he goes up against better wing/guard defenders. Last two post seasons he's shot 33% from three and lower 40's, high 30's from the field.

Yeah, he's finally showing signs that he can't clearly dribble past those guys any longer. CJ is one of the most crafty ball-handlers and shot creators in the league. He is going to have to be even craftier. His contract is going to be bad at the end. The hope is Zion and B.I. will be the absolute primary creators and CJ can morph into can excellent catch & shoot/Two dribble pull up type guy once he absolutely can't beat guys off the dribble.

Per Scoop B

quote:

Pelicans are reluctant to give up Brandon Ingram in any deals.

I’m told that the Nets have inquired on Ingram, Nance & picks.

If I’m Brooklyn, I’d want to meet with Durant to see if he was on board coming to Nola.

IF it’s doable: From what I’ve been told: Pelicans would rather do a deal centered around a multitude of draft picks. Their own plus the Bucks and Lakers ones they still have.

Honestly, I would be on board if we can find a third team to facilitate the player requirements and just give up picks. Don't want to give up BI. Means too much to the culture and team chemistry.

ASSUMING, Willie speaks to KD, and KD isn't gonna just try and push himself out if we dont win year one, I'd give up the Bucks/Lakers picks and a few of our own, but would absolutely want to keep some of the later ones cause this would be a max 4 year window.

But KOC's piece implies the asking price might be something like Ingram + 8 first rounders, and that's just crazy to me(seems to think we would still have 5 first rounders left over?).

Isn’t this the guy Lakers fans were jacking it to last year?

He’s the quintessential summer league guy. White guy that can dunk and ball a little.

He’d be good for the Shanghai Sharks.

After that press conference we can assume with almost 100% certainty BI is off limits.

Bradley Beal wasn't happy with just 251 mil so he got the Wizards to throw in a no trade clause. They are going to be so fricked when he demands out in 12-18 months.

To b honest, I don’t think Beal is about winning at all cost. You don’t stay with the same franchise for 10 years and then go sign a 251 mil long term deal if you want to leave. The guy is going to retire a Wizard.

The Pelicans ha e the picks to get a ery good player on a rookie contract. No need to get Durant for Ingram.

A lot of times it’s half bullshite, but with Beal it seems to be true when he said staying rooted to raise his family in one city where they are happy and part of the community is more important than personal goals.

On the one hand if I was a Wizards fan I’d have to respect it, on the other, man, Beal is not that guy. Team is basically gonna be in late lottery hell for another half decade.

It’s honestly for me, the most demoralizing place to be a fan. Having no hope you’ll get that star in the draft, and no hope you will ever be more than round one fodder in a best case scenario.

Chris Haynes is saying that Minny inquired about Durant.

Nets asking price was KAT, Ant, and 4 1sts. Lol. They don’t actually want to trade him.

Sean Marks is smoking drugs or just fricking with KD

Morey did the same thing with Simmons last year.

If he and Nash can somehow convince everyone to stop being little bitches and play basketball, they have enough top end talent to contend.
