Makes a lot of sense for both teams I think. I'd try to get McConnell too if I am the Suns

That seems to be a problem

Honestly I'd be fine if we could get a backup 5 like Muscala

Only problem with Atlanta is the base year compensation. They don’t have cap space so they would have to figure out a way to dump some money.

They’re still rumored to want to trade Huerter and Collins, so they’ll probably try to tie all the deals together to make money work.

Honestly Ayton to Atlanta and Huerter/Collins doesn't seem that bad to me for Phoenix.

Both Huert and Collins would help Phoenix.

Problem is the BYC.

Ayton’s trade value would only account for 50% of the contract for Phoenix, but 100% for Atlanta.

So Phoenix or Atlanta would have to have cap space to absorb the other 50%, which neither one has. It would have to be a three team deal with someone with cap space or a TPE

Listening to SXM this morning, some feel Atlanta is the most likely landing spot for Ayton. Could get interesting.

seems dumb of ATL. with that team, i'd rather Capela at $18M than Ayton at $30M+.
I didn't realize Capela was in the last year of his deal, so maybe that's why they are looking to add Ayton b/c they think they'll have to give Capela something like 4/$100M.

really hope(and doubt) that Jax's gross behavior was not pre-meditated to that sort of sick degree lol

I honestly don't think it is, and that's not me being a homer.

Jax has no emotional control. He's the definition of a hot head.

I wonder if Boston would take Red Velvet into their TPE.

The numbers work out if it’s Ayton to Atlanta, Capela to PHX, Huerter to Boston in their TPE. Don’t know if some sort of draft compensation would be needed, but the figures would work. Would work with Collins subbed in for Capela too, but PHX would have to send Craig out too.

He signed a 2 year extension last season for 45 million. So he’s under contract until 25

According to the trade machine, Suns wouldn’t be able to take Collins back with Ayton’s outgoing salary, so it could get pretty complicated in making a deal work.

Well, never mind this works

Suns:Capella
Hawks: Ayton
3rd team: Huerter

And just for S&G, Huerter for Graham would work and get us just over the tax line after signing Daniels.

Yeah. I was just adding that. They could do Collins with Craig going out too. Or just Capela. Either way it is feasible and not too difficult.

If I was Atlanta I’d probably try for Gobert over Ayton. I wonder how much draft capital Utah would want in a Gobert for Collins/Capela swap.

Gobert
Hunter
Huerter/Bogdan/Griffin
Murray
Young

That’s a very good defensive lineup that can put some points up too.

I’d love for us to get in as the third team for Huerter. Be great backup/fill in for CJ

So what time does free agency officially begin? It’s been incredibly quiet from shams and woj today.

Something like 5 central today.

Day of I always find to be pretty quiet until late afternoon.

Not sure if this has been reported yet, but I’m told Danilo Gallinari’s guarantee date has only been officially moved back to July 8, which would suggest Atlanta is still looking to expand the Dejounte Murray trade as Hawks look for further John Collins, Kevin Huerter deals.

If the Hawks can't land Ayton

Hayes and Graham makes a lot of sense for them.

Graham can slot in as backup PG (but can't play with Trae probably)

Hayes can be their backup 4 and would be perfect compliment to Trae. Would dwarf Jalen Johnson's development

Huerter for Graham, Hayes, and possibly a couple of 2nds. I'm good with that

Trade Temple and fake 2nd to the Thunder for Muscala (Adams trade exception)

Sign Liddell

Dyson can play the 3 down the road

CJ/ Jose / Kira
Herb / Huerter / Dyson
BI / Trey / Naji
Zion / Nance / Liddell
JV / Muscala / Willy
