that 20MM expiring would be nice too.
gotta get graham out if you make that deal though. Graham/Hayes/2nd? Opens up a roster spot too

there would be risk though if they do that and Jose/whoever can’t carry the backup PG minutes until dyson is ready

Between Zion and CJ we already have more "lead ballhandling" depth than we started with last season, and you have Kira and Daniels to add to that mix. I'd be more worried about being thin with bigs. You'd need to take that extra roster spot and sign a legit backup big. Does Tristan Thompson have anything left in the tank? He's unsigned and the blue collar, rebounding type we'd be missing.

Jose can drastically regress and still be a better option than Devonte Graham

you’re getting a “big” back in bojan though. Not like Hayes but passable. And Lewis, let’s just say if he’s anything other than a zero this year that’s an unexpected development.

Would Bojan taken PT away from Murphy though? If they require a 1st, it is a hard pass.

See I don’t think he would. Now would he take some minutes from Daniels? Possibly but don’t think he was going to play much this year anyway.

Daniels is more of a guard/lead facilitator while Bojan basically plays the 4 or 3.

I think it's almost a guarantee that Bojan would either take minutes from Trey or only get 10-15 minutes a night himself, feels like it has to be 1 of the 2. So I don't get why we'd move a 1st for him.

I love that Bogdanovic has averaged 30mpg and around 18ppg the past 5 seasons (on a really good team), but supposedly he'd be a bench guy for us and struggle to get 15mpg.

Yeah, that checks out..

I’ve said this before but I really think Jose is best suited for the role he has had, energy backup guy in a very specific spot: hustle, defense, bring some energy.

I don’t see him as the full time back up PG playing 20 minutes a game. I think you need another PG on the roster that compliments him, a bigger defensive PG (Daniels?)

in 54 games last year he got 15 mins per game. I don’t think 20 mins is out of the question considering some of those minutes he will be the off ball guard (in with CJ, Ingram, etc). But yes it remains to be seen whether he can be THE backup PG for a whole season. I think he can but depth behind him is weak at the moment

All depends on dyson and whether he’s ready. Back to bojan it’s as much of a money trade as a player trade. If they can get off Graham’s remaining deal, rid themselves of the Hayes conundrum and get that 20MM expiring that would all be good. Bojan can shoot too

also, don’t be surprised if Lewis isn’t ready for camp. Haven’t seen any updates lately but the smart play is figure him for zero minutes and plan accordingly. If he comes around that’s a good thing but you can’t count on it. 10/31 is his option date and it’s looking like the decision will be “no”

Zion will be the most dominant force in the NBA. BI & CJ were a dynamic pairing during the final stretch of the season. Valanciunas is a heck of a fourth option, a luxury I don’t believe any other teams share.

The 2nd Tier of players fill out a ten man rotation:
Herbert Jones - Untouchable
Larry Nance Jr - Safe
Devonte Graham - On The Block
Trey Murphy - Untouchable
Jaxson Hayes - On The Block
Jose Alvarado - Safe

The 3rd Tier consists of energy and development players:
Dyson Daniels - Safe
Willy Hernangomez
Kira Lewis Jr
Naji Marshall

Allowing the current team to develop a play style as constructed could be beneficial and if there’s a need to pivot due to an injury/illness it’ll be a little easier.

Bogdanovic for Graham + Hayes would define a clear nine man rotation for me:

CJ-BI-Zion-Bog-Val

Nance, Herb, Trey, Jose

I like it, don’t know if I love it.

Herb is the key to us having a defense. He’s not getting benched.

I think Bogdanovic is the better professional basketball player going into next season. Herbert Jones wouldn’t go into exile, I would expect him to log very heavy minutes still.

Due to their skill sets I wouldn’t expect Bogdanovic to close out many games. Same with Valanciunas.

I think Trey can play 2-4 right now and maybe some small ball 5. Everyone slides down a role which pushes Dyson out IMO

The offense isn't a concern. The defense may be.

Why would we trade minutes from arguably the best wing defender in the NBA for more offense?

Why are you pretending that there are more than 240 minutes in a game to give and that we can magically give Bojan 30 mpg while not taking minutes from anyone else?

right
Bojan would pretty clearly come off the bench this year. A Jose/nance/Murphy/bojan and possibly dyson second group would be pretty damn good. Zion and Ingram getting some 2nd unit minutes with those guys

especially considering the comical lack of depth the pels are used to having

zion
ingram
nance
cj
herb

bojan 6th man

I'd be delighted.
he'd start if ingram or zion is out for the day which will happen.
jv starts if nance needs a rest.

I like Bojans game and attitude.
what's the price?
bench guys and a pels #1 not in a swap year.
sure. pels have lots of picks. bojan makes them better.
