If the Pels finish above .500 this year I'll never post on Pels talk again. It's great to be optimistic heck I am too, but the talent is trash absolute trash.

Quick question Boom.

Using your logic and PER scale how can Eric Gordon make any kind of 6th man of the year leap with a paltry 13.5 PER? The year before that? 12.7

So he doesn't even crack the good player threshold and is closer to a rotation player. Why pay that much money for a rotation guy? And how can he get to 6th man of the year status?

I know people here don't watch other teams because Jones sucks. The best thing about this signing is him and AD are cool.

And that's why the Pels are going to seemingly come out of nowhere this season.

who are they better than, though?

MIN, UTA, DEN, all got better and have young cores developing together. all of last years playoff teams will be ahead of them except maybe DAL but we say that every year. this is the year to create an identity and a plan

Oh I already bookmarked.

In reality, I'm expecting a better, more efficient team this year.

The hit a lot of singles this year. They built a more cohesive team that is better on defense.

As I've said multiple times this is STEP 1.

Get better defensively. Be more efficient. Build a roster that MAKES SENSE.

That's about it.

I know plenty about Moore, HIll, Qpon, etc I have been familiar with those guys since they were in college.

Can we get this post stickied and then enforced at the end of the season plz?

They will be better than Min and Den this year. Not better than Min in the long run, though, obviously.

They built a team that makes sense. The construction of the team before was a Batman (AD) and 4 dudes who thought they were Robin. Now they have a Batman (AD) a Robin (Jrue) and bunch of guys who will fill specific roles and play solid team defense. They sacrificed overall top end talent for fit, defense, and depth.

Houston is the least losingest organziation in the NBA of your lifetime, The Pels are losers nearly every year. If you don't think that makes a difference hey that's on you but it's fair to point it out.

Sorry I'm done with him now that he's gone full Boom.

So we don't like the Jones signing? What happened to his leg that's so bad that he can't come back?

Oh look, booms here.

You say so yourself, PER only tells you so much (I.e. With Anthony davis).... Yet completely ignore everyone else

Better doesn't necessarily mean a More Talented Core.

I'm not suggesting they skip any steps, I agree with this completely. I just think that the type of team they've built can play above their talent level in the regular season. That's actually something we need to be careful of. If they do have success it might be easy to think someone like Hill is an answer rather than a stepping stone.

How the hell does this board allow a troll to post 26000+ posts without getting canned?

it does only tell you so much, fact is there are no stats that show any of those guys being average. and i welcomed bunch to post any stats that show otherwise. Truth be told you could scroll the stat book, bball ref, etc all day. Those guys best role is somewhere around the 7-8th best player on a really good team, and 3 of them will be in your finishing 5.
