Big fan of what Demps/Ferry have done this offseason.

Its a great first step.

i am too, and i agree, its as good a first step as we could have hoped for (except maybe some lottery luck). given the restrictions and lack of real assets the FO did very well with the start of the makeover

wins are not what i care about this year

I think you are really underestimating this roster. Honestly, I love it. Big fan of what Demps/Ferry have done this offseason. Its a great first step.
I like most of the moves. My biggest concern is that I think we overpaid for Hill. A contract closer to that of Moore would have made it more palatable. However, they must like his potential enough to overpay.

By PER: FYI I'll be glad to look at any other metrics you want to look at:

HIll - 10.5
Moore - 10.8
QPon - 9.9

A Year For the Ages: 35.0
Runaway MVP Candidate: 30.0
Strong MVP Candidate: 27.5
Weak MVP Candidate: 25.0
Bona fide All-Star: 22.5
Borderline All-Star: 20.0
2nd Pineapple: 18.0
3rd Banana: 16.5
Pretty good player: 15.0
In the rotation: 13.0
Scrounging for minutes: 11.0
Definitely renting: 9.0

The Next Stop: DLeague 5.0

At best these guys are "scrounging for minutes" if you think that's league average no you're wrong. League average would be more like "in the rotation" level guys.

He was getting offered more than moore by other teams.

As both Duncan and Lowe said, it is a deal comensurate with the new cap, with some optimism thrown in.

A finishing 5 including Hield/Moore, Qpon, and Hill is so lacking in talent no amount of unselfishness or high IQ could make up for it.

How exactly does one stop a Holiday/Davis Pick and Roll surrounded by 3 solid 3 point shooters? If you take AD away from Holiday and leave Jrue open, he can hit the pull up or get to the rim. If you throw an extra defender into the equation to take away Jrue/AD, Jrue now has an open man on the perimeter that can hit the 3.

Maybe he was, but who knows? However, I would have moved on once the price got that high. I hope they are right though.

no doubt
all three have been below average NBA players with low usage. the trend for low usage players becoming high usage players is not good. they might be in the closing 5 this year, like i said its all we have

all i care about is that they play defense

Has a deal been handed out to a SF in the "Moore range" that you would rather over the Hill deal?

You don't have 3 of these. You don't have 1 proven solid 3 point shooter.

And hit the open 3. Otherwise we just overpaid for a bunch of Alonzo Gees. I can see these below average guys becoming pretty potent as the supporting cast to the AD and Jrue show.

I agree the sf market was insane this year that's where most of the money went. I agree we spent a lot on him but we didn't just make up the number there were a few teams after him and it took that number to close the deal

Last year's PER:

Moore 11.4
Hill: 12.2

Both ascending players. Both excellent defenders. Both hit 3 pointers last year at respectable margins, Hill hit the corner 3 at a very respectable margin.

As you always say, CONTEXT.

Look at what fans of the teams those players have come from say about them. Look at how they were used most efficiently and what they will be asked to do.

Both players are signficantly better than what you are trying to say, and you know that. Or maybe you don't, because you don't know anything about the players and went to Basketball-Reference and used a disingenuous career stat for players with limited sample sizes.

And that's why the Pels are going to seemingly come out of nowhere this season.

A 24 year old with history of averaging over 12 ppg for a playoff team taking the league minimum to come off the bench for the pels? There has to be another move coming... If he does for a low contract props to the front office for sure imo

If the Pels finish above .500 this year I'll never post on Pels talk again. It's great to be optimistic heck I am too, but the talent is trash absolute trash.
I know plenty about Moore, HIll, Qpon, etc I have been familiar with those guys since they were in college.

They went with multiple guys instead that have hit the 3 respectably and situationally in team offense from certain spot, and are getting better at it. They also drafted a guy that had great range in college.

The point was to get better team wise and have MULTIPLE guys that could do multiple things in a system, instead of having one guy that could drain them outside of a system and couldn't play any Defense whatsoever.

Versatile, high IQ players that can do multiple things pretty well. System contributors.

This might be too complicated for you to comprehend.

He absolutely sucked and has never been the same since his injuries. It is almost certainly a minimum deal.
