Adams is about as quick as you can be for the man his size. He might not be able to guard all the way out to the 3 point line but he can easily guard both the low and high post.

Also right now the starting lineup is:
Bledsoe
Lonzo
Ingram
Zion
Adams.
no one cares about a 'starting lineup'.
pretend like you've watched basketball before, eh?

No one is trading a first for a 34 year old aging injury prone player. If so, it would have been a late first rounder. Griffin heard everyone offers and think this is the best one for us. Like someone said, it helps keep Zion clean and doesn’t rough him up. Steven Adams is an amazing PNR player. He doesn’t need to stay in the paint, he can go out and set screens for players.

Pelicans have fast, passing guards and slow bigs (Williamson, Adams).
Williamson is not slow, and Adams getting rebound after rebound, along with outlet pass ability actually gives a ton of transition offense, with our G's being lightning quick...

Idk maybe we should let this offseason play out a bit before saying they don’t know what the frick they’re doing
Thus far they haven’t made any “desperation” type moves so I’m inclined to believe they weren’t desperate and just got fricked for no reason.

That seems pretty steep for a big, that although he fits us, is a bit of a dinosaur in the modern NBA. We gave up an asset that will garner trade capital in Hill and we gave up picks for a guy that they can’t move?
Exactly. We only gave up a 2nd for Favors on an expiring last year and that was great value. We got a way worse contract and give up a first, two seconds and a positive asset? No way should we have included that first.
And like I said, OKC has two horrible contracts at center and should have been desperate to get rid of one.

Please tell me one team that might have taken on Adams at 27 million for this year? I’m just curious who you come up with. And then Presti has Horfords contract on the books too now. Over 50 something million tied up in two centers but we appeared to be the desperate team in this trade.
I see you like to play the what if game in make believe land. There’s a ton of teams. Hornets, Pistons, Knicks, etc. Literally anyone could’ve taken on his contract if they shed salary. LOL. Just like us. We had to get rid of salary in order to take it on. I don’t see how that is a valid point at all that it’s a bad trade.
People are just too simple minded to realize that we just created $27 million in Space for next off-season which is supposed to be one of the biggest free agent markets in recent years

exactly... sure, he's not the modern 5 that teams have seemingly fallen in love with, he's a bit of a throw back, but the dude is strong as an ox, only 27, and brings a proven veteran presence to the court and locker room...
meanwhile, Hill, at 34, can barely stay on the court long enough to put out a mediocre effort, but all the guys here are worried about is his possible "trade value"....

From the guy that said Kelly Oubre is a better player than Jrue, basketball lectures from Lester Earl.

And we’re all glad as hell that Favors is off the team. Adams is clearly better.

I feel like people get way too caught up in the off-season, and contracts and “winning” the trade. It’s like saying how badly the Lakers got ripped off in the AD trade while they hold up a championship trophy. It’s not always about winning the trade. The Pelicans got A LOT better today. Adams will create spacing with his picks and box outs. And he will defend the rim and rebound. See below and tell me this guy won’t make a difference:
Steven Adams nearly killing Patrick Beverly

honestly, do you think they woke up this morning and decided they wanted to trade george hill for steven adams all of a sudden?

another very good point... if we don't resign him, he instantly creates a shite ton of cap space....
but that Hill trade value doe

I thought it was just lottery protected. Which in the brutal west, one injury to Jokic or Murray could mean the pick falling right outside the lottery and becoming half decent.
It’s lotto protected for 3 years, then I suspect it turns into 2 seconds. Very likely to be a 20’s pick.

Think of the trade as Jrue Holiday and Darius Miller for:
Eric Bledsoe
Steven Adams
2 firsts.
2 pick swaps.
If I told you that was the deal before it all broke down would anyone be happy with that?
Hell yeah you would.
Everyone bitching is going to love Adams like a motherfricker once the season starts.
And we aren’t done. There are going to be other deals. If we brought in say Crowder for MLE and Baynes for BAE would people be happy?

There’s no denying that. Also Adam’s will make 27 million this year, Favors under ten.

Guess Baynes wasn’t in the works
And Adams is tough, we need guys like him and a Hart.
