The longer they hold on to him, the less teams will offer as the playoff picture gets clearer and clearer going into February
this could not be further from the truth.
first off, teams will get crazy at the deadline. it happens every year.
second, the FA market this summer is abysmal. Jrue will be highly sought after. You think the Warriors wouldn't want to pair Jrue w/Klay & Curry next season? Or the Nets aren't curious how they'd look w/Kyrie, Jrue, & KD together?

You aren't getting Isaac. The Magic wouldn't even think about it unless it is a godfather offer

Instead, that's what Redick is having to do by default, because Jrue isn't doing it at all. That's why Jrue is available and JJ isn't.
Jrue being available vs JJ is mostly due to opportunity cost. JJ is waaaay more valuable on this roster than is the 2 2nd rounders we could get for him. We would just be accumulating garbage for the sake of it
Jrue could actually bring back something we could work with & be apart of our future.

This Stein tweet today is essentially Griffin blaming Jrue for much of our struggles. He's basically saying something to Jrue like: "You didn't teach Lonzo how to play next to you. When people didn't rotate on defense or were slow to get back after a turnover, you didn't hold them accountable. You haven't done your job as team leader, and that's the only reason that you were here."
lol that's some mental gymnastics right there

Jrue to Denver for Gary Harris, Jrami Grant and a ‘22 first works well, although I think they are wanting more for Jrue.
I’d have to think teams like Denver, Miami, Toronto, would love to get him this year.

Name all the big deals that happens at the trade deadline in the last 10 years. I can name you 2. Boogie and Paul Gasol in the last 10 years.
The thread is clearly about this season. No one is talking about the offseason here.

If you don’t know what’s happening, go read MM’s article on Bourbon Street Shots. It’s almost a play-by-play

Carmelo to the Knicks, Blake Griffin to Detroit, last season Porzingis was traded to Dallas for nothing, & the Lakers basically gave Zubac to LAC.
there are deals to be made at the deadline
also I said this earlier, but ill say it again. with this coming out, that means that Jrue is on the table. Jrue being on the trade block means he wants to be on the block. and wanting to be on the block means he also wants to go to a contender. this is a fluid situation. so if there isn't a great deal at the deadline that satisfies both Jrue & the Pels long-term, they will wait till the off-season

A few ideas:
Culver+Teague+Minnesota top 3 projected 1st rounder (Allegedly Griffin was high on Hayes and Culver before the draft)
Some deal including Josh Richardson
Zach Lowe’s idea of Gary Harris, another prospect (Monte Morris?), and a future 1st (I don’t think we would have interest in Beasley since he is likely about to get overpaid in this FA class)
Some deal including Caris Levert
Herro+Nunn+Waiters
Culver+Teague+Minnesota top 3 projected 1st rounder (Allegedly Griffin was high on Hayes and Culver before the draft)

Id like it.
The Denver one wouldn’t be awful but it’s meh for me.
Levert would be cool
I want nothing to do with waiters. He’s as toxic as they come in a locker room.

Jen Hale just interviewed David Griffin just before halftime and asked him straight up. He emphatically denied Jrue is on the block.

We aren't shopping him. If you want Jrue, we'll trade him...but you are going to have to come correct.

Sounds like it is a deduction based on the other info he has.
I doubt Jrue gets moved after Griffin touting him as the leader of the franchise.
Only ingram and zion are off the table.
Make an offer. Got a couple months.
Jrue will win a game with 30 points and amazing d and the phone will ring.

FIFY. I actually think that Jaxson Hayes has a higher ceiling than Ingram does, and I think that Ingram's ceiling is pretty high.

Herro, Winslow, Olynyk 2025 1st and multiple swaps
Jrue, Okafor, Frankie J
This would be my 1st deal.
Then, I try to get Covington from Minny using Moore and Melli. Maybe Moore, Melli, the Miami 1st, and a few of the plethora of 2nds we have

ya'll have to understand that words are chosen carefully. and that while Jrue probably isn't being "actively shopped" right now that doesn't mean that the phone lines aren't open or that every player on this roster has a price. except BI & Zion

I’d be fine trading Jrue at this point. Have to ship out Favors too if trading Jrue, and preferably Lanzo as well.
Whatever concoction of players and picks that could net us (from any combination of teams) would be fine by me assuming front office competence.
Any roster should be able to at least tread water absent its star player (Zion for this purpose).
The fact that we’ve pinned all our hopes on a rookie, and a pretty good young offensive player, and have failed miserably minus one of the two/three (three if counting Jrue) main pieces tells me the roster is a lot further away from competing than many of us had hoped during the off-season.
If we’re going full rebuild, let’s do it right.
Get as many picks over the next 2-3 drafts as possible and let the chips fall where they may.
Obviously, we’re a lot more than one or two players away from being a legit contender.
