13th youngest team in the league, so we are younger than most teams. Do you like providing false info to prove a point? Or are we just unnecessarily blasting you because you, once again, are presenting a poorly researched argument?

Zion gets hurt in game 1 of the finals, and we're swept

We didn't do anything of major significance, while the rest of the West loaded up
I keep seeing this said, but it's not the case. Sure, a couple of teams made obvious upgrades.

But we didn't lose any free agents of note so there was no one to replace. I see people point to upgrades of the other teams that aren't actually upgrades but rather replacements of players lost.

Just off the top of my head, teams like MEM/DAL/LAC/SAC and probably a couple of others didn't make meaningful upgrades. Certainly not an upgrade you can point to that is more significant than going from 29 to 60+ games of Zion whig just goes back to the point that not much else matters other than the # of games Zion plays.

He plays a lot, we're a playoff team. He doesn't, we're not.

That’s crazy because we went 5-3 in those games.
Dec 17- Suns L 114-118
Dec 19- Bucks L 119-128
Dec 22- Spurs W 126-117
Dec 23- OKC W 128-125
Dec 26- Pacers W 113-93
Dec 28- Wolves W 119-118
Dec 30- 6ers W 127-116
Dec 31- Griz L 101-116
Jan 2 against 6ers is when he got injured.

In fact I have no idea what you’re looking at because we haven’t had a stretch where we lost 6 of 8 with Zion
Nah, we did lose 6 of the last 8 Zion played last season.

Some of the wins quoted above, Zion did not play.

But we also won 7 in a row and I think 10 of 11 that Zion played before those final 8. It's a long season of ebbs and flows, or 8 game samples don't generally tell you much but rather the full # of played games.

My bad, didn’t look at the box scores. i thought he played in all games before that injury.

I don’t count the 6ers loss because he didn’t play that whole game. In his final 8 full games we lost 5 of them.

One to Milwaukee (Giannis is Zion’s kryptonite)
One to Phoenix (who we beat the previous two games before with Zion)
One to Memphis
Two to Utah (frick those two games)

Real question is what happens more: Pelicans wins, games Zion plays in or threads started by whatiknowsofar to remind everyone that he is a mod.

13 is around the middle. I wouldn't call it a young team anymore. But that's my opinion. Zion and Murphy (plus Daniels) are the only youngish contributors on the team. All the other primary players are 25 or older.

I wasn't trying to mislead anyone. We have had the same group for several years. Only makes sense that it is maturing and getting older. We can't be young with the same group 3 or 4 years in a row..

Nothing has shown the Pelicans that they will be any better than they were in the past. So it's preseason, big whoop. That means to expect the past until the present shows something improved...not for a quarter, a half, or even a game. Try the first half of the season to see if the Pels are flying different colors.

This would still be true if we were 3-0 in the preseason.

Struggle early, start to get better in middle of the season and go on a little run, then injuries level the rest of the season off.

41-41

Would agree.
JV will be traded mid season.

Not only this but all 3 of CJ, Nance, and Val could be gone soon. If that happens that’s 3 players with an avg age of 31y/o.

We are essentially top 10 youngest and in a better position than a lot of those teams from a proven talent standpoint. Not “potential “ but proven talent.

We didn't have anymore injuries, as a whole, than most other teams. Two guys missed a bunch. That's pretty common.

This is absolutely ridiculous. You should be ashamed to have written something this bad. Yes, even you.

I don't know what you are talking about. Lots of teams have Lots of injuries. We had great health outside of Zion and Ingram. Them missing time isn't a surprise, and is honestly expected. To keep painting ourselves as snake bitten every year is exhausting and is not accurate.

Someone posted about most games missed due to injury and we weren't bottom 3 either of the past 2 seasons. The way people talk, we were far and away past every other team in the league both years. That's the only way crying about this all the time makes sense to me. It can't be the focus of every conversation about the team all the time. Players are going to miss time. If we can't manage that, we aren't going to ever be any good..

We had the 3rd most missed games last season.

And the bubble size is based on how good the players are that were injured, seems obviously top 3 as well.

LINK

From that Twitter handle, you can view last season as well. Middle of the pack in # of games missed, top 5 in value of players lost.

What in the hell are you talking about? CJ may have played most all of last year, but he sure as hell wasn’t healthy. Jose and Larry missed significant time (and that’s with Larry clearly playing well below 100% most of the games he actually played in). Herb even missed close to 20 games. And tell me what team lost their two best players for half the season or more.
