There should be no way in hell this soft bitch travels with the team to LA.

But knowing this weak arse front office they’ll probably buy him and Lebron brunch.

What can the league do to the Pels if they say

quote:

"AD and his Mickey Mouse agent have made a shite show of this situation. AD wants a trade and in good faith we will not hold him hostage, we will trade him but we will be compensated accordingly for trading a top 5 player in the league. AD initiated this and in doing so he has created a need to protest our investment and the investment of the team he will eventually be traded to. AD got his ASG bonus (if that was what it was about). We will honor his contract until such time as he is traded but AD playing the final games of this season does not benefit him or the Pelicans because of the injury risk and it doesn't benefit the league because of the shite show he and his agent have made this whole situation. Our fans while obviously upset are ready to move on and look to the future. AD playing the remainder of the season for a team and fan base he has disassociated himself from will only prolong the bitterness and resentment."

Respectfully,
Whoever is calling the shots in the Pelicans Org.

They can say AD is healthy so he needs to play, and if you don't play him, we can invoke some vague rules that give the commissioner authority over things he feels are detrimental to the league to fine or take away draft picks. And since the rules are vague, and the NBPA would not be on our side, we'd be screwed.

Hence why we use the fig leaf of the “shoulder injury” and the threat of a Conduct Detrimental to the Team suspension to get an agreement out of the league and AD.

Leaving at halftime to fly to Charlotte without notifying the team you were even leaving the building is clear grounds for a Conduct Detrimental suspension.

If it was for an MRI, they could have done one in NOLA. This was him wanting to be out of there and in Charlotte.

I certainly agree.

My only point is if AD wants to play and the league wants to get involved to ensure he plays, there isn't much we can do I'm guessing, and we'll just have to play him.

I don’t think the league gives as much of a shite as before the ASG.

One, he’s played in the game so they don’t have the optics of a guy shut down for the season playing in the ASG.

Two, the team has played better without him since he returned. So arguably making him play isnforcing them to tank.

It was supposedly done at Oschner.

and 3, we only have 2 games left on national tv out of the 20 whatever we have left to play.
We had 2 out of 5 games or something like that on national tv after this ridiculousness started, and then the ASG, so they wanted him playing for those 3 games.

I doubt they really care now, especially after how shitty he has performed.

I mean AD is lucky the team doesn’t suspend his arse for up and leaving in the middle of a game, which would cost him some serious coin. Someone needs to tell him this bush league shite goes both way at some point.

You can tell the Pels are walking on eggshells, because they have to. They know AD could make this way worse in the offseason. They don’t want to get into a pissing contest with him. The only thing presumably stopping him from someone “Lakers or bust” is his public image. If the Pels start firing back at his image in the media, it could go very wrong.

Which is why it is in everyone’s best interest to come to an agreement for him to sit.

Play up the “shoulder contusion” as a fig leaf for sitting.

AD just honestly needs to STFU. I don’t know who’s telling him he needs to play, but no one is looking good through this. He needs to lay low....the media is starting to turn on him BECAUSE he insists on playing and looking like a jackass.

He’s listening to Rich Paul, who is doing everything he can to drive down AD’s value so that the Lake Show will be the highest bidder.

No matter how much damage you do to a Rolls Royce, you still can’t get one for a couple of Pintos and a manufacturer rebate on a Chrysler 300.

I totally agree.

You can always hate the message, but to always hate the messenger is just baffling to me.

I do hate the messenger, but that’s not why I’m making points about his influence on the board. That’s an issue with his general attitude. The reason I make a point about his influence on the board is bc his opinion is the only opinion allowed on the board. Any other opinion is shot down. It’s not healthy for the board, and it doesn’t make sense to take everything he says as fact. He is hardly infallible or a perfect source

League can pull draft picks, levy fines, etc upfront. Then they can pull strings and influence things behind closed doors to hurt the Pels that way as well

This, every time he speaks he just makes himself look more foolish and clueless.

AD states that he never gave any list and all 29 teams are on his list. I think it was 1 day prior, and he stated his agent gave a list, and whatever teams were on that list, that was true and authentic.

He's all over the place.

Wouldn’t a competent agent be able to coach their player on how to answer such questions?

Definitely. Check out most QBs in the NFL. They’re usually very well prepared to answer questions without making a fool of themselves or rocking the boat. But Rich Paul isn’t a competent agent, he’s just a tool for Lebron
