So what’s the answer at the center position?

Before we start, Queen is not starting at center. “Maybe” some small ball five off the bench, but much more likely always with another big. At least in year one. My proposed depth chart is:

PG- Poole/ Fears/ Jose
SG- Herb/ (Murray)/ Hawkins/ Reeves
SF- Murphy/ Bey/ Boston/ Micah
PF- Zion/ Queen/ Matkovic
C- Missi/ (?)/ Dickinson

And with the addition of a center, that’s a pretty talented and deep roster. But we have to add someone. Missi was just ok at best (ton of upside), and if he gets hurt, the season is done.

Lopez, Capella, Horford, Kornet, Wagner, Looney, Nance

Robert Williams, Duop, Mitch Robinson, Nick Richards, ??

To me, this is the last move and the roster will be set for the season. Thoughts?

You forget the coach is Willie green. Until fears proves his worth defensively he will 100% be on the bench while Alvarado gets the backup minutes.

We have the most A.D.D. fan base. Let’s keep to the topic and avoid the nonsense.

It’s hard to say, depending on if you release Elfrid Payton, if you trade Jose or Hawkins etc. I’ve been mentally thinking $5-$10 million more, and higher with a Jose or Hawkins move.

Yea we need to dump Hawkins but some team would take him just because he's young and can supposedly shoot. We wouldn't get anything for him, probably a conditional 2030 2nd that never actually happens but it would save us $4.7 million this year. I think we are somewhere around $6 million under the tax so losing Hawkins gives us almost $11 million but we still have to sign 2 first round picks which will take just about all of that money. Anything more than 2 way contracts or league minimum deals I don't see happening unless they offload Dejounte. We have a trade exception but I don't know for how much. I think we are counting on Queen to play off the bench in a rotation immediately. If Dejounte is back to start the year, which he might since he’s back on the court already, then that lets Fears grow at his own pace.

Willie is gonna lose his job pretty quickly if he doesn’t play the rookies AND we aren’t winning

Yes if true Diumars had them ranked #5 and #6 on his overall draft board. He is not gonna let WG go a season with them mostly riding bench.

There is still an adjustment period for rookies, especially ones that are raw and need development. We don't have to look too far for the model that Green will follow. Just look how he handled Missi. He let him up his minutes to become a starter 20-30 games in and then mostly let him play, even if the team suffered. Missi hit the wall and then got hurt, so maybe it was too much too fast. I'd look for Fears and Queen to lead the 2nd unit by the 2nd half of the season. Just need to let them find their role.

As far as Center, I have no idea. I think we end up trading a few guys in the next few weeks. I have a feeling there is a big one coming..

We’re currently about 4.5 million below the tax after signing draft picks

Any player we acquire will be a sign and trade. That’s just how it works now.

If we were to expand the Wizards trade and include Jose/ Hawk/ Reeves then our outgoing salary would be $55.3mil and our allowable incoming would be $69.3mil with only Poole coming back at the moment and Bey on a TPE.

So we could technically take back up to $37.5mil as our absolute max if we decided to target Turner or someone else.
