So, we know we are picking Zion #1, but what about our 2 2nd round picks?

Who are we looking at? Any shooters?

Guys I like are Dort, Claxton (UGA), Tacko.

Or package them for a late 1st like Thybulle or Cam Johnson.

I really like Carson Edwards and he would be a great microwave type 4th guard.. Otherwise best wing shooter they can find..

Kyle Guy would be a real possibility I would keep an eye on. Kid is a flat out shooter

nbadraft.net has Kevin Porter Jr going at 32. If he makes it out of the 1st rd i’d trade up to the top of the 2nd & take him.

Wtf. No way in the world he drops that far. Dude has the skills to be a top 10 pick. Id take him if he was sitting there at 10-15. At that point its a toss up whether you're getting a good player, why not take the risk on a guy that could be a legit starter.

Not to sound like a homer, but what about Tremont Waters?

You’re right. I’m just going off the site. Idk where Tremont Waters is projected to go, but I wouldn’t mind him in the 2nd. Got all the skills just small. We need PG depth.

Tremont is out there balling at the combine.

Per twitter

quote:

Tremont Waters has been outstanding throughout the Pre-Draft Process, particularly as a shooter. Knocking it down at a ridiculously high rate on the move & off the dribble (46% on 30 attempts over 4 live scrimmages here in Miami)

He also was first in the 3/4 court drill, scored a 40 in vert, and leads all guards thru 4 scrimmages with 67 percent on field goals. Hell yeah I would love him in the 2nd round.

He plays D, has a decent shot, is a facilitator, and can get to the cup. If all he does is give you 10 minutes a game of competent basketball, that’s a win.

A high second is worth more than a high first because you aren't forced to offer them a guaranteed contract.

That's why you tend to see a lot of late 1sts as draft-and-stash Euro players while 2nd rounders end up being the kinds of guys you take more of a risk on.

Jontay Porter. He has a tremendous feel for the game, but rough injury history recently.

Other potential guys: Okeke, Cam Johnson, Roby, Claxton

Or trade into the late first to snag Grant or PJ.

just from a marketing standpoint, it makes good sense too. If you are looking to further endear the fans to the team, taking an LSU kid like that would surely do it.

If somehow someway Luka Samanic is around we should absolutely take him

Hell I wouldn’t even be opposed to trading up a few spots if he’s there late 1st round

6’9 1/2 Croatian with great shot for those that don’t know him

We really don’t need to be pandering at this point.

If we need Tremont, draft him. Don’t just grab him because he is an LSU guy.

Tremont has a legit fit on this team at a spot we have a need for a back up that can push our current bench for playing time. If anyone was clamoring for Naz then I would wonder about homerism

Agreed that we could use Tremont.

But someone making the PR argument for him turns me off because we're trying to build a team to win now and in the future.

Yeah that's fair it does get beat to death on this board when no pro teams will ever give a shite about that. Winning is 1000 times more valuable for fans than the local kid.
