I think woj said earlier via tweet that if it gets done on the 6th we get 4 mill more in cap space. It also means the 4 pick that we trade for can play in the summer league (if we keep it)

Lakers won’t have room to sign a 30% max

It essentially keeps the Lakers from being able to have another max slot. If we keep the fourth pick it will also allow that guy to play on our summer league team I believe.
