Just said it on Hunt Palmers radio show
Thinks they'll serve up Zion, but Pels are trying to do everything to not include him.

I think I seriously doubt that Shareif has any real inside information
Posted on 6/20/23 at 2:46 pm to whatiknowsofar
They’re not gettjng him without Zion or BI. Thats just what itll take.

Nothing is going to happen and then all the pels reporters will talk about how we were "on the one yard line" but a deal didn't get done

If we trade Zion for Scoot, then Scoot needs to be an immediate star. It's an all-in bet for Griffin, and his performance will always be judged by that trade.
That's why I don't think he will do it. It would likely end up costing Griff his job.

This was probably just the first time anyone asked him since everyone knew this news last week.

Running it back and having another disappointing season would likely also cost griff his job. I'm not advocating for the trade one way or the other but regardless of what we do Griff's arse is on the line this season.

He is not the sharief, he is just the deputy

Or it grants Griff some time. He saved for future cost savings and did a smaller reset early for bigger dividends later- thats how he would sell it. I dont think Griff job on the line as it is Willie’s honestly.

I get this on paper, but in reality it doesn’t make sense. Zion in reality wasn’t available.
Here’s reality for you: if Zion spends another year like we’ve had & he’s minimally available due to injury and lake of game shape, this fanbase and city will be “unkind.” In turn, Zion will want out & we waste this potential and the asset is damaged goods.
Let’s move on from this drama and get usable assets for him & he can be someone else’s headcase

Done. Come on down, Scoot!

If the Pels have after Thursday Scoot and Zion it is a win. Potentially 2 of the top 15 players.

You’re exactly right. But nobody wants to face reality. They think THIS year is finally going to be the year. And it won’t. And Zion will play 30 games again. And his value will be very low.

Have you met this ownership group? As long as the team is making money and the fans are happyish, Griff is doing his job.
I still think it's most likely this is a non story that the Hornets and Pels are both keeping alive for their own reasons, but going into the tax, the quickest way to lose money in the NBA, for an unreliable duo like Zion/BI seems like the quickest way for Griff to get himself fired. Trading one of the 2 for Scoot and remaining profitable seems like it would be the less risky path to keeping his job.

Fletcher saw somebody say that online then Fletcher told him. Pretty much useless.

BI better not be in that discussion

Disagree. The hiring of Griff, Nelson, and others; the new practice facility -- it represents a commitment from Gayle to be competitive.
And fans won't be happyish if the team fails to make the playoffs again this season. That's why I say that Griff's job is on the line.
