Nah, an AD level package after a week of healthy games is not selling low.
If we manage the package correctly this time, that would be a big win long term.
I like Zion, but this isn’t working and it’s not magically going to start working in year 4.

It’s the definition of selling low.
Regardless, it’s an embarrassingly bad plan forward. No one wants to be the 2011-12 Nuggets.

Let’s say a Zion trade nets us another Ingram level player.
At that point we would have Ingram, whoever we traded Zion for, Jonas, whoever we tanked for this season, and a bunch of picks.
It would be workable.
Trading Zion wouldn’t make us any more devoid of talent, because at this point our biggest talent can’t even be relied upon to play half of the games. I’d argue a properly managed Zion trade would raise both our ceiling and our floor if we can begin to start drafting correctly, I like having multiple paths to success. Right now, we only have 1. Zion being healthy. And so far Zion’s injuries/lack of conditioning/lack of defense have arguably derailed 3 out of 3 seasons. Even last year, all we needed to do was win 2 more games and we were in the play in.
Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. This franchise will not win anything of substance if winning is nearly 100% reliant on Zion staying in shape and healthy.

You will not get that after a week of healthy games.

You get Zion healthy and work on getting another player. Doesn’t have to be a superstar. Young lead guard for picks and a young player, other than Herb, this summer ought to do it.

Zion must be in the same rehab facility as Michael Thomas!! Goodness gracious!

It’s incredibly frustrating, but I look back at Jrue. He had those two seasons of injuries when he first got here, and we were all frustrated as hell. Then he went on to play five mostly healthy seasons.
If they can get this stuff figured out with Zion, this will feel like a blip in the radar much like Jrue.

It’s not like we had a choice with Cp3 or AD. Things honestly went better with those 2 and it still resulted with them asking out eventually.
I’d argue it would break the cycle if we traded one before they officially demand out.
Zion is 0-3 in making a positive impact on a season. We have enough data. If Zion is your best player. You aren’t making the playoffs. We might as well trade him while there are still some teams and franchises in the league that value him.
It’s embarrassing that we got Zion, an AD trade package, had an opportunity to trade Jrue, Lonzo and Redick for something real, and we are a bottom 5 team in the league.
Meanwhile: Teams that selected behind us in the Zion draft and/or high in last year’s draft didn’t have the same advantages and are kicking our asses in the standings.
Memphis, New York, Atlanta, Charlotte, Cleveland, Phoenix, Minnesota, Chicago, Golden State, etc
Why can every other team but us and maybe Orlando and Sacramento not figure out how to field a respectable team? And let’s keep in mind, Orlando and Sac at least have an excuse of not winning the lottery and not having AD and Jrue trade packages to help accelerate their rebuilds.
Griffin and Co have literally been the worst front office in the league over the past 3 years and it is not even close.

Utah did that with Deron Williams and it didn't help them much. They got Derrick Favors and 2 1sts that became Enes Kanter and Gorgui Dieng.
If the Pels choose to trade Zion preemptively it will be because he's damaged goods meaning a bad return. If Zion demands out it means he will limit potential trade partners reducing the return.
A wild card in all of this is what rules will be in the next CBA to change player empowerment? All of the chatter suggests that will be a focus of the next deal. Unless you think Zion's never going to be healthy you kick the can down the road as long as you can and maybe the rules on trading Zion will be more in your favor 3 years from now.

Memphis hasn’t won a playoff series since drafting Ja. They have enough data. They should trade him for a package.

For zion

TWolves haven’t done anything of note with Anthony Edwards. Better move him for a bunch of nothing.

It’s because people think every franchise can win using the same formula. People need to realize that the ONLY way for the pels to acquire a superstar is through the draft. He’s the one we have. We aren’t signing another one. And we aren’t trading for one
Facts. Our franchise cannot win through free agency, therefore we are at a permanent disadvantage. But now it seems we can’t even win through the draft. Being a Pels fan feels hopeless, all bc the NBA has created a shite league where the players have too much control and the large media markets are heavily favored

By next summer, Zion will be on the My 600 Pound Life Show and one of the greatest busts in NBA history. The guy is done.

76ers should have traded Embiid for cash when they had the chance. Now they’re stuck with him
Posted on 12/11/21 at 6:44 pm to gadknot
How many games did Embiid play in his first three years? 31?
Well that’s clearly enough to know that they’re incapable of ever doing anything of note with him. Better move on!

It helps optimism when you have a steady stream of top 5 picks every year during that period.
