Pelicans’ Zion Williamson continues to experience soreness in his surgically-repaired right foot and is likely to be shut down from basketball activities for time being, sources tell me and @WillGuillory.

quote:

Recent imaging on Williamson's foot "showed a regression in the bone healing of his fifth metatarsal," per Pelicans.

Other thread got derailed on draft talk.

He's done for the year imo

Lopez:
quote:

Zion Williamson will be dialed back in his rehab process from surgery on his fractured right foot. Williamson's bone has not healed the way the team expected and he will take some time off before proceeding, sources tell ESPN.

It's unclear when he will return to the court.

Pelicans statement on Zion Williamson: “After experiencing persistent soreness in his right foot ... (imaging) showed a regression in the bone healing of his fifth metatarsal." Williamson's training will be reduced for an extended period "for further bone healing," team says.

Yep, he done. It's time to start giving NAW and Hayes big minutes and tank. If NAW and Hayes doesn't figure it out, it'll be time to move on as well.

If Zion’s camp would have just allowed them to call it a Jones fracture, we wouldn’t need all of this BS.

This is depressing. The second this guy gets “healthy” and plays a few of his typical great games, the solution is to trade him. We can’t continue to hitch our franchise’s future to a guy that is never available. Trade him for a package that offers multiple paths to success. Hope and pray we get another Ingram type piece in that package and don’t mangle the rest of the package like we did with the AD deal. That’s the only way to handle this that may lead to a playoff level team in the near future imo.

Since the Pelicans drafted Williamson No. 1 overall, the All-Star forward has missed more games (87) than he’s played in (85).

Typical sell low bullshite.

The reality is that the prospect of him being healthy is a better path forward than anything they’ll trade him for. It’s without a doubt worth the risk.

Exactly. We've been hard on Griffin for his phrasing when commenting on Zion's return (and rightfully so), but Griffin has clearly been directed by Zion's camp to keep things close to the vest.

Can we blow up a blow up? This franchise sucks. I’d rather be a Falcons fan and you know how fricking bad that franchise sucks.

I find it very believable. When they first announced the surgery my immediate reaction was "why didn't they use a screw?" I'm not a doctor, maybe it was minor enough to not "need" a screw, but as big as he is and the way that he plays, I feel they should have used a screw and then we wouldn't have this regression.

a trained person looks at his imaging.
says, thats worse than last photo. look, see this?

you do not need to believe zion.
its not something he has a say on.

imho, i repeat, he needs a hippie who can prepare his salads and run the juicer and vitamix.
no pototos.
no white rice.
no wheat pasta.

she will brew herbs.
boneset.

It’s because people think every franchise can win using the same formula.

People need to realize that the ONLY way for the pels to acquire a superstar is through the draft. He’s the one we have. We aren’t signing another one. And we aren’t trading for one.

Zion is what’s for dinner. So y’all might as well eat.

He's done as a Pel. Start putting the trade packages together.
