Honestly don’t mind the trade, got younger and can spend the $$ elsewhere. Poole shot better than CJ last year and Bey is a cheap 15ppg player.

I do feel like the writing may be on the wall for Hawk which I’m personally sad about

Bailey, Fears then Maluach is Dumars’ big board for 7

that's what i'm thinking too...

I think going C at 7 and waiting to go after a playmaker at G at 23 would be a mistake... the only G at the back half of the 1st round that would improve us, IMO, is Clayton, and it's highly likely he's not getting past 20, with some mocks having him go in the lower teens....

the safest be is going with whoever falls out of the top 6 out of Johnson, Fears, and Bailey... we know Flagg and Harper are 1-2, Edgcombe is looking like 3, and then its basically Bailey, Knueppel, Johnson, Fears and Maluach as 4-8...

so, looking at it, there's a very good chance we get the chance at one of Bailey, Knueppel, Johnson, or Fears at 7...

at 23 you still should have Raynaud (my favorite C in this draft) and Kalkbrenner available.... Raynaud is better offensively, Kalk better defending the paint....

No, but it would probably cost atleast Murray and 2-3 1st + a swap.

Saddiq Bey looks to be ready for the season and he looks like he's on that LeBron Diet.

why would you be sad about it? b/c you'd have to admit you were wrong about him? i have no problem at all admitting I was dead wrong about him, but at this point, it's pretty clear, he's not going to be an impact NBA player... he just doesn't have the skill, physicality, nor the ability to develop, like we were hoping....

it is what it is.... we took him, hoped for the best, but it just ain't working out for him (or us) here

You’re right just thought he would translate

But now we a trading him at his lowest buy point (he’ll turn the corner like the rest who leave us)

the guy is a filler in a trade... he realistically has no value

or he could be Devonte Graham and still not do a fricking thing...

Pick should have been Whitmore. Another screw job by Griff.

Are you confusing Brandon Ingram with Zion?

Brandon Ingram played in every single playoff game, Play in game and damn near every down the wire game we needed for play in and playoff seeding.

Zion played zero playoff games. He played 3 quarters of 1 play in game, before tapping out despite his ability to power walk 6 mph off of the court.

I don’t get this board’s boner for Sabonis. He’s a loser. He’s no better than prime Jonas Val. He ain’t worth Herb. He ain’t worth 4 picks. Dude is a DHO and O rebound merchant. He sucks.

The value of pick #40 is useful to move up if desiring. 7+40 for 5 or 6 seems fair enough (a stretch for 5). It'd be interesting to give the Wiz the pick back to trade spots. Or package 40 and a future second to maybe move back into late first round. Also considering the #23 the pick and tradable players still on the team, it's great to have many options to move up or down to target the players you want, which is great for someone like Weaver.

More likely you move up from 23 with 40 if you try to.

40 isn't going to get you a move up spot in the lottery most likely

On the other hand, what could any combo of 7, 23, and 40 get you from Brooklyn, if you were to trade back a spot. Assuming your guy is still there and Brooklyn thinks their guy might be gone via another team trading with us.

Brooklyn has 8, 19, 22, 26, 27 and 36

Yeah, that makes sense, if you get a heads up from Brooklyn on who they would take.

They are not making 6 picks that is for sure, and certainly aren't making 5 first round picks.

My guess is they want to try and move into the top 5

Pelicans could definitely use some cheap depth. Wouldn’t be opposed to that but I agree with Brooklyn probably having higher aspirations.

Not sure where this smoke is coming from about Ace Bailey and the Pelicans but it feels like the 76ers or Hornets trying to trade back if anything.
